How to Protect Troops and Resources from Defeats
Getting zeroed in Infinity Kingdom can be brutal—you lose troops, resources, honor, and momentum. But what if we told you there are smart ways to minimize those losses, or even prevent them entirely? This guide builds upon our understanding of how defeats and zeroing work to offer you practical workarounds for protecting both your troops and resources when facing an incoming attack.

Protecting Troops from Death During Defeat
The Key Strategy: Marches as Safe Havens
If you know an attack is coming and you’re unlikely to win, the best thing you can do is get your troops out of your Training Grounds (TG). Why? Because TG troops are the most vulnerable and are killed in large numbers during defeats.

Here’s what you do:
- Fill all four of your marches before you are attacked.

When you are attacked, only the garrisoned march and what remains in TG/hospital will be vulnerable. With four marches filled but not fighting, and an empty TG, you’ll take almost no troop losses.
Once the defeat is over and you’re ready to fight back:
- Slowly adjust troop numbers from your other three marches.

- Reallocate excess troops from those to reinforce your main march.

- This trick lets you keep a strong team ready while the rest of your troops remain safely distributed.
The “Training & Healing Limbo” Trick
Another excellent tactic is to leave completed training or healing cycles unclaimed:
- When troops finish in Barracks or Hospitals, do not hit “Claim”.
- Troops remain safely out of the Training Grounds.
- Since they’re not technically in your base army yet, they can’t be killed.

Note: You won’t be able to train or heal additional troops until you claim the old batch. So use this only if you’re saving a few key marches for an important moment.
Protecting Resources from Being Raided
Losing resources after a defeat can be devastating—especially those you’ve spent days farming or claiming. But there’s a powerful trick to protect them.
Forge Banking: Turning the Forge into a Resource Vault
The Forge Transmutation mechanic lets you convert large amounts of resources for refining. But here’s the trick:
- Initiate a massive transmutation in the Forge using all your excess unprotected resources.
- Do NOT complete the transmutation.
- Those resources are now safely banked.

TIP: Use the Red Flask “Dragon’s Breath Potion” to bank. This one uses more stone than other resources, which likely fits you well as you most likely want to preserve stone. If you are maxed and need food more, use the dust “Ancient Dragon Spine Powder” instead, as this is the most food intensive transmutation.
If you’re defeated:
- Attackers cannot steal what’s in the Forge queue.
- Once the danger has passed, cancel the transmutation.
- You will lose 20% of what you banked but recover 80%—far better than losing everything.
Conclusion
You can’t always avoid getting attacked in Infinity Kingdom, but you can control how much you lose. By learning how to protect troops and stash resources, you turn defeats into mere setbacks—not disasters.
A little preparation goes a long way. Master these techniques, and you’ll spend less time rebuilding and more time fighting back. If you have more tips or questions about this topic, drop them in the Discord or comment section!
