Impeachment vs Forced Impeachment in Infinity Kingdom

Introduction

Alliance leadership in Infinity Kingdom can change through two different systems: Impeachment and Forced Impeachment. Although both mechanics ultimately allow members to replace the alliance leader, they exist for different situations and follow very different procedures.

The regular Impeachment system is designed as a structured leadership replacement when the leader becomes inactive. Forced Impeachment, by contrast, is a player-driven vote used when the inactivity conditions are not met but members still want to challenge the current leader.

Understanding the difference between the two systems is important because the voting rules, candidates, and outcomes are not the same.

Impeachment

Impeachment is an automatic leadership replacement mechanism that becomes available when the alliance leader has been inactive for a specific period of time. The system checks the leader’s login activity and allows impeachment if the inactivity thresholds are met. During the first three days after a server opens, the leader must be absent for 24 consecutive hours to trigger impeachment eligibility. After the initial three days, the requirement increases to 72 consecutive hours without login.

Once these conditions are satisfied, any alliance member with rank R2 or higher can start the impeachment process. At this point the system opens a leadership election rather than a direct replacement.

During a regular impeachment, all alliance members are eligible to both vote and stand as candidates. Players who wish to become leader must actively sign up as candidates. Members then vote among the registered candidates, and the player who receives the most support becomes the new alliance leader.

This process functions more like a leadership election than a direct removal. The outcome is not predetermined by who started the impeachment; instead, the alliance collectively selects a new leader from the pool of volunteers.

Players who join the alliance after the impeachment process has started cannot participate in the vote.

Forced Impeachment

Forced impeachment exists for situations where the leader is still considered active by the game but alliance members want to replace them anyway. Because the inactivity conditions for normal impeachment are not met, the system instead uses a direct challenge vote between two players.

Only R3 members or higher can initiate a forced impeachment. When the process begins, the vote is immediately structured as a contest between the current leader and the initiating player. Unlike regular impeachment, there is no candidate registration phase and no additional candidates can join the race.

All alliance members are allowed to vote between these two options. During the forced impeachment period, the leader temporarily loses several administrative authorities, including the ability to transfer leadership, remove all alliance members, or dissolve the alliance. These permissions return once the impeachment process ends.

The outcome depends on participation and majority rules. If the vote succeeds, the player who initiated the forced impeachment automatically becomes the new leader. If the conditions for a successful vote are not met, the current leader remains in power.

There is also a seven-day cooldown between forced impeachment attempts, which prevents alliances from repeatedly triggering the system in quick succession.

As with regular impeachment, players who join the alliance after the process begins cannot participate in the vote.

Conclusion Summary

Although both systems replace the alliance leader, their purpose and structure are different.

Regular Impeachment occurs when the leader is inactive and functions as a leadership election where members vote among multiple candidates. Any R2 member can start the process once the inactivity requirement is met.

Forced Impeachment is a direct leadership challenge used when the leader is still active. It can only be initiated by R3 members or higher, and the vote is strictly between the current leader and the player who started the impeachment. If the vote succeeds, the initiating player immediately becomes the new alliance leader.

Understanding which system applies—and why—prevents confusion and helps alliances navigate leadership changes more effectively.
