New Golden Path (2.8.5)

Infinity Kingdom Guide: The Complete Golden Path Guide (Updated for Patch 2.8.5)
By Myrahk – July 2025

Introduction – The Golden Path: Still the Best Deal in Infinity Kingdom

For many Infinity Kingdom players, the Golden Path (often shortened to GP) is the single most important recurring event in the game. It’s not just a battle pass — it’s a core progression system for immortals, artifacts, resources, and even server migration tools.

With the 2.8.5 update, the Golden Path has been reworked. The number of immortal fragments you can purchase each season has been reduced, but in exchange, we’ve gained access to Unique Artifacts for top-tier immortals. This is a huge buff for players aiming to build meta-relevant teams.

In this guide, we’ll break down everything you need to know about the Golden Path:

  • What it is
  • How it works
  • What’s changed in 2.8.5
  • What you should prioritize as a player (whether F2P or spender)
  • Why it’s still the best value in Infinity Kingdom

What Is the Golden Path?

The Golden Path is Infinity Kingdom’s seasonal battle pass, available starting in Season 1 after you progress far enough in your Chronicle. It runs for a set duration (typically around 30 days) and allows players to earn Golden Path Coins by completing quests and leveling up the pass.

These coins can be spent in the Golden Path Shop, which features:

  • Meta immortals & their fragments
  • Unique artifacts (NEW)
  • Castle skins
  • Migration portals
  • Random immortal fragments (for purple crystal farming)
  • Action Point flasks
  • Miscellaneous cosmetics

On top of this, the pass includes tons of direct rewards like gems, speeds, philosopher stones, and random immortal fragments just for leveling up.

The Spender Unlock: Why It’s Worth It

The Golden Path has two tiers:

  • Free tier – Gives some coins, fragments, and basic rewards.
  • Premium tier ($19.99) – Unlocks an extra 20 levels instantly (worth 600 coins or 9,000 gems) and 230 more coins as you progress, plus significant extra rewards.

Total value of the spender tier:

  • ~800 Golden Path Coins (20 levels + tier progression)
  • Immortal fragments
  • Speeds, gold, stones
  • Philosopher stones
  • Random frags for purple crystals

Note: that while the image and tooltip show 200 coins, you in fact earn 200 plus 600 from the 20 additional levels you are getting ahead, since you are going to complete the level 50 multiple times earning coins each time.

Myrahk´s Take: If you spend on anything in Infinity Kingdom, this is where to spend it. For $20, you get one of the highest coin-to-dollar ratios in the game, plus powerful progression items.

Golden Path Shop – What to Buy and Why

The real magic of Golden Path is in the shop, which offers some of the best value purchases in the game. Let’s go through them:

1. Meta Immortals (5×60 Fragments per Season)

Immortals include: Yi Sun-Shin, Louis, Margaret, Seondeok, Artemisia, Pakal, Tokugawa, Matilda, Trajan.

Price: 200 coins per 60 fragments
Limit: 5x purchases per immortal per season (was 10 before patch 2.8.5)

Why it matters:
These are top-tier immortals for key meta teams. Especially:

  • Yi Sun-Shin (YSS) – A core for Earth and Himiko meta builds.
  • Matilda – Crucial for many burst-based setups. E.g. core support for S2 fire builds.
  • Artemisia & Trajan – S-tier supports for multiple water and fire respectively.
  • Tokugawa – Amazing for Lightning sustain.

Player Strategy: Always prioritize immortals you are actively building. Maxing their fragments early means faster access to their talents, which are meta-defining in Conquest.

2. Unique Artifacts (NEW in Patch 2.8.5)

Elemental Selection Unique Artifacts

Cost: 480 coins each.
Limit: 2 per immortal per season

Use them to upgrade your core damage dealer in your main setup max. This is a huge deal, make sure you max out your main damage dealers artifact asap. Keep crafting until you get the right top main stat and bonus. Basically, you should unlock one UA for all immortals you use in combat builds, then forget everyone besides your most important damage dealer, max his or hers artifact.

Pay-wall Immortals Unique Artifacts

Cost: 600 coins each
Limit: 1 per immortal per season

Artifacts for:

Yi Sun-Shin (YSS)
Matilda
Artemisia
Trajan
Tokugawa

Why it matters:
Until now, Unique Artifacts for these immortals were very hard to get. Now, Golden Path provides guaranteed seasonal access.

This is a major buff for players chasing late-game builds. Artifacts like Yi Sun-Shin’s Dragonbane Bow or Trajan’s Imperial Seal can completely change how your team performs.

Player Strategy: If you’re already using one of these immortals on your main team, prioritize their artifact. It’s one of the best long-term investments you can make.

3. Random Immortal Fragments (For Purple Crystals)

Price: 60 coins per 60 fragments
Limit: 5x per element (Fire, Water, Earth, Lightning, Wind)

That’s 1,500 total fragments per season. When melted, they give 150,000 purple crystals — essential for upgrading your Tower of Knowledge skills.

Why it matters:
This is the cheapest and fastest way to farm purple crystals. Even with the stock reduction (10 → 5), this remains the #1 way to fuel ToK growth.

Player Strategy: Always buy these first if your Tower of Knowledge is underdeveloped. Purple crystals are one of the biggest long-term bottlenecks in IK.

4. Portals (Migration Tokens)

Price: 50 coins each
Limit: 10 per season

If you ever plan to migrate servers, buy these every season. They’re cheaper here than anywhere else, and stockpiling them saves a ton of money in the long run.

5. Action Point Flasks

Price: 10 coins each for 1,000 AP
Limit: 10 per season

Always buy them. AP is king for farming gnomes, gathering event points, and prepping for KvK.

6. Castle Skins & Cosmetics

The same as previous Golden Paths — if you’re a collector, this is your spot. Cosmetics don’t impact gameplay, but the castle skins do provide important buffs (check the guides here for full skin breakdowns).

7. Skip These:

  • Stardust – Terrible value.
  • Crimson Crystals – Even worse.

Player Strategy – How to Use Your Coins

For F2P players:

  1. Buy Random Fragments first (for purple crystals).
  2. Buy Action Points.
  3. Save for immortal fragments of a meta immortal you need.

For Light Spenders:

  1. Unlock premium tier for the massive coin boost.
  2. Prioritize immortal fragments and artifacts for your main team.
  3. Stockpile portals in case you need to migrate.

For Whales:

  1. Max out artifacts + immortals every season.
  2. Buy castle skins and cosmetics.
  3. Stockpile portals for server movement flexibility.

TL;DR – The Golden Path in 30 Seconds

  • Cost: $20 for premium tier — best value purchase in the game.
  • New in 2.8.5: Unique Artifacts for meta immortals.
  • Immortal Fragments: Limit reduced to 5x per season, but still top-tier value.
  • Purple Crystals: Buy random fragments (150K per season).
  • Portals & AP: Always stock up.
  • Skip: Stardust and Crimsons — awful value.

Conclusion – Still the Best Deal in Infinity Kingdom

Even with the nerfs to fragment availability, Golden Path remains the best value-for-money feature in Infinity Kingdom.

The addition of Unique Artifacts has transformed it from a “nice-to-have” into an essential seasonal investment for any player serious about long-term progression. Whether you’re building a Conquest-ready main march or just farming purple crystals to expand your Tower of Knowledge, this is where you get the biggest bang for your buck.

If you spend on anything in Infinity Kingdom, make it the Golden Path.
