All Building Costs lvl 51 to 55 (Conquest Season)
Conquest Building Level Costs and Requirements (Castle 51–55)
Once a player reaches Conquest, new building levels are unlocked across the entire city. While building progression is capped at level 50 during Seasons 1 and 2, entering Conquest raises the maximum building level to 55.

These additional five levels represent a major shift in how city progression works. Although wood, stone, iron, and food costs continue to increase significantly, they are no longer the primary limiting factor for most players. From level 50 onward, Aether becomes the defining bottleneck, shaping how quickly and efficiently a city can progress.
This page explains how building progression changes at Castle 50 and above, how Aether impacts upgrades, and which building requirements must be met to unlock each new upgrade tier.
The Role of Aether in Post-50 Progression
From building level 50 onward, all buildings require Aether to upgrade. This is the single biggest difference compared to progression up to Castle 50.
Aether cannot be gathered from the map, plundered in large quantities, or produced passively like standard resources. It is generated exclusively through the Forge, where it is transmuted at a fixed rate of one Aether per hour per transmutation slot. This hard cap on production means that no amount of resource stockpiling can compensate for poor Aether planning.
While the resource costs from levels 50 to 55 are extremely high, especially for functional buildings, most players find ways to manage them through farming, inactive castles, or alt accounts. On servers with fewer empty castles available, maintaining one or more alts often becomes necessary to sustain the required flow of wood, stone, iron, and food.
Despite these high costs, resources are rarely what stops progression. Aether availability determines how fast upgrades can realistically occur, regardless of how many resources a player holds. Read more about Aether production here.
Up to Castle 50, progression is largely driven by resource production, event participation, and upgrade timing. Once Conquest begins, progression becomes far more restrictive and deliberate. Every building from level 50 onward consumes Aether, upgrade times increase noticeably, and prerequisite chains become more important as Aether is limited.
Because Aether production is slow and fixed, upgrade decisions from 50 to 55 must be planned days or weeks in advance rather than executed opportunistically.
Building Upgrade Requirements & Costs (51–55)
From Castle 50 onward, upgrading a building or the Castle itself requires specific prerequisite buildings to already be at the previous level. These requirements apply only to unlocking the upgrade option and are separate from resource costs.
Castle Upgrade Requirements
Each Castle level from 50 to 55 requires two specific functional buildings to reach the previous level before the Castle upgrade becomes available. These required buildings are as follows:

Building Costs level 51-55
First up let us have a look at the Barracks, these are critical for players as level 55 unlocks the new Tier 8 troop tier which significantly improves each troop’s attributes and thus their combat power.

Other major buildings’ costs are as follows:

Resource production building costs are as follows:

Practical Progression Considerations
From Castle 50 onward, successful progression depends less on raw resource income and more on Aether discipline. Players who upgrade too many buildings at once often find themselves Aether-locked with no meaningful way to accelerate progress.
A steady approach that keeps key functional buildings within one level of the Castle, while sticking to the upgrade requirements, tends to produce the smoothest results. I would recommend you follow the upgrade requirements for Castle as your main pathway while upgrading your main barracks to reach level 55 (tier 8 troops) quickly. For most that would be Bowmen, but you could be running a solo carry Alex, in which case Cavalry is more important. I think many also underestimate the value of upgrading the Academy quickly, since you get access to the new technology through progressing the Academy’s level, this is a priority for me as I went through 50-55 to make sure I could tab into new technology progression quickly and not waste time researching lesser technology nodes while waiting for access to the new technology added in conquest. But this is something only relevant if you have been pushing technology as your priority throughout earlier seasons.
Summary
Once a player reaches Conquest, new building levels up to 55 become available and fundamentally change city progression. While resource costs continue to rise sharply, Aether becomes the true limiting factor due to its fixed production rate and universal use across all upgrades.
Understanding building requirements, planning Aether usage carefully for efficient progression from Castle 50 to 55 is quite important in order to reach C55 and T8 troops (and technology) before your conquest KvK season P1 begins.
