Khan-Based Lightning in Conquest
The Return of Crit Khan – Late Game Lightning Build
Lightning has always been a flashy element in Infinity Kingdom, but in recent years it lost its crown as stronger Chaos and Earth–Himiko builds took over Conquest. That’s why this build is so exciting — it showcases a way to make Lightning shine again in late game Conquest, with none other than Genghis Khan back in the spotlight as the carry.

This build goes against the current meta, yet it’s crushing maxed Himiko teams and even taking out whales. Let’s dive into what makes it work.
🐉 Dragon Choice: Thunder Dragon
The first surprise in this setup is the use of Thunder Dragon, not Lightning. Why?
- Lightning Cage: Reduces damage dealt by enemy mages — perfect against the Himiko-dominated meta.
- Lightning Shriek: Adds more true damage scaling.
- Ultimate Amplifier (24%): Boosts damage from ultimates after the first one. By the time Khan ults a second and third time, he’s dishing out devastating nukes.

Even though this team doesn’t match the dragon’s element, the defensive and ultimate-boosting effects are what matter. This helps Khan survive the burst meta and lets his damage snowball.
Core Carry: Genghis Khan (Crit Build)
The star of the march is Crit Khan. For years, Khan’s crit multiplier was feared, but his inconsistency pushed him out of the meta. This build fixes that:
- Energy Mastery (Level 8): Still one of the strongest skills in the game, giving Khan ridiculous damage scaling.
- Corrosive Power: Adds even more ramp damage.
- Fighting Master (Level 8): Keeps Khan CC immune nice and safe and buys Khan time and consistency.

Frontline: YSS + Bjorn
The frontline here is deceptively standard but synergizes beautifully with the build:
- YSS (Yi Sun-sin): Easy to obtain, reliable shields, and 30% boosted defense and 30% more healing from our Theo/Fu Fei support. A tank that stalls while Khan ramps.
- Skills: No Escape, Master’s Aegis, Resist (resist can be changed based on your specific enemy).

- Bjorn: His ultimate boosts damage output by another 20%. This stacks with the dragon and Khan’s skills, multiplying the burst potential even further.
- Skills: Energy Suppression, Fear of Domination and Rage Blessing. Getting ahead in the energy game is vital here and once we land that first dragon breath we activate fear aura for more damage stacking for our Khan, just in time for him to come online and repeately spam massive AOEs from his hyper-regen setup.

Together they keep the frontline stable and enable Khan’s late-game damage spikes.
Core Support: Fu Fei or Theodora
For the key support role we are using Theodora as default because she is a lot easier to max. We NEED a level 8 talent support to buff our Khan, therefore many will want to do Theodora over Fu Fei (it is quite expensive to max a chaos immortals talents) however, if you can do it.

Fu Fei is a big upgrade! Either immortal runs the same setup and works by providing massive sustain and defense, DoT clearing or control immunity.
- Life Protection: Offering big healing buffs and a big defensive for our Khan.
- Fountain of Life: We need this skill and it should be a priority (even at level 1). Simply because we MUST obtain imnmunity to no escape to make this regen build work.
- Spring of Life: Good heal boost aura. Adding even more sustain.

All in all, we are stacking MASSIVE amounts of damage mitigations, energy regen control effects and healing in this setup. Everything is about defending until Khan comes online and ramps repeated ultimates at high troop count relying on our healer and tanks ability to keep him topped up and on his combination of Corrosive + Energy Master to enable spam-ultimate casting.

Very cool! And the strongest lightning build I have ever seen.

💡 Why This Build Works
- Meta Counterplay:
- Most players are running Resist + Master’s Aegis to protect against Himiko’s magic burst.
- That means very few are running Oaken Guard or other anti-physical defenses.
- Result: Khan has free reign to shred them.
- Dragon Synergy:
- Thunder Dragon cuts mage damage early, neutralizing Himiko bursts.
- It also stacks bonus damage for ultimates — Khan’s bread and butter.
- Crit Khan Factor:
- With high crit multipliers and stacked bonuses, a lucky crit can instantly delete enemy carries.
- Even without crits, consistent boosted ults let Khan dominate over time.
- No Wound in Meta:
- Many teams lack wound in the current mage-heavy meta.
- That means healing (Theodora, Life Protection) is more effective, helping Khan survive long enough to nuke.
📊 Proof in Reports
Hades shares reports where:
- This build wipes out maxed Himiko teams that normally crush everything.
- Even when heavily outnumbered, as long as Khan has troops left, he can swing fights back with one or two ultimates.
- Against strong rally setups, Khan crits once and completely shifts the momentum.
🏆 Final Thoughts
This Late Game Lightning Build is one of the freshest and most exciting Conquest setups we’ve seen in a long time.
- It revives Genghis Khan as a top-tier carry, something many veterans will love to see.
- It uses Thunder Dragon in a unique defensive/offensive hybrid way.
- It punishes the mage-heavy Himiko meta, taking advantage of players stacking magic resistance but leaving themselves vulnerable to physical nukes.
⚡ Verdict: Crit Khan is back. With the right support and dragon synergy, he’s once again capable of deleting entire teams — and this build proves Lightning still has a place at the top of Conquest.
