Should you spend on the Elemental Bond event?

In the past, the Elemental Bond event was a decent way to obtain fragments for certain Immortals. It was limited, a bit underwhelming, and only rotated a small number of Immortals—mainly Water and Fire. Because of that, I placed it in the high B-tier in my tier list video.

But things have changed. Since the recent update, Elemental Bond has undergone a massive transformation, and it’s time we adjust our rankings. I now firmly place Elemental Bond in a recommended event to participate and spend on. It’s not the absolute top, but it’s one of the highest-value recurring events for any player, especially mid-game and late-game accounts.

What Changed in the Update?

1. Immortal Rotation Every Two Days

The biggest change is the introduction of a rotation schedule for different elemental pairings. Now, every 48 hours the lineup changes, cycling between elemental pairs like:

  • Earth and Thunder
  • Water and Earth
  • Water and Fire (the original default setup)

This opens access to a much wider range of powerful Immortals. Previously, you were locked to a static selection; now, there’s a strategic calendar-based opportunity to target difficult-to-obtain units.

2. Revamped Mechanics and Guaranteed Rewards

Each board contains 12 cards and guarantees fixed rewards:

  • 12 fragments of a selected Immortal (6×2-card pairs)
  • 30 Element Dragon Shards

It’s no longer a gamble. Every 12-card clear guarantees valuable progression materials.

3. Predictable and Affordable Spending

Each board clear requires 12 Soulglass Crests, which cost $3 per set. That means you can reliably target key Immortals without diving into expensive packs or depending on RNG. This is particularly important for progressing mid-spenders and light pay-to-play players.

Why This Event Is Good Now?

A) Access to Gem-Heavy and Rare Immortals

Many Immortals in the rotation are:

  • Gem Heavy (only available via expensive market purchases or packs)
  • Event Locked or rare in typical gameplay

Examples include:

  • Tokugawa Ieyasu (Lightning)
  • El Cid (Lightning)
  • Genghis Khan (Wind)
  • Louis IX (Fire)
  • Saladin, Alexander, Richard, and others

To make these Immortals viable in PvP, most require Level 8 Specialization. Elemental Bond gives you a clear path to work toward that without needing to gamble in the Market or wait for events like Lucky Spin.

B) Fragment Sniping: Min-Maxing Value

One of the best strategies is what we call “fragment sniping.”

  • Flip cards manually—never use the Flip All button.
  • If you match both of the 6-fragment cards early, reset the board immediately.
  • Prioritize fragments over dragon shards—shards are farmable; fragments are not.

This lets you stretch your crests and acquire more fragments with less spending.

C) Consistent Daily Value

  • You can buy 5 Soulglass Crests of each type daily.
  • These do not lose value with more purchases.
  • Compared to many events with diminishing returns, this one stays stable and affordable.

Comparison to Old Version ‘Triumph of Fate’

  • Triumph of Fate had RNG, mixed rewards, and often left you with junk.
  • Elemental Bond is clean, reliable, and much better for actual progression.

You’re paying for exactly what you want—fragments and shards, no fluff. This makes it significantly more efficient in both time and money.

Ideal Player Targets

This event is fantastic for:

  • Light and Mid-Spenders who want to focus on 1–2 Immortals at a time
  • Competitive Players trying to hit Level 8 Spec for powerful Immortals
  • Catch-Up Players needing value fragments without RNG or Market drain

Final Thoughts: S-Tier for a Reason

The Elemental Bond event used to be decent. Now? It’s essential.

  • Predictable $3 per 12 fragments + 30 shard payout
  • Rotating elements ensure regular access to top Immortals
  • Min-maxing with sniping makes it the best-value spend event in the game
  • Fragment rarity offset by strategic board clearing

If you skipped this event before or undervalued it, it’s time to rethink your strategy. With smart fragment sniping and a focus on the right Immortals, Elemental Bond is now a top-tier progression tool for all players—free-to-play or spenders alike.

Highly recommended.
