Stellar Compass event in season 2

The Stellar Compass event is where you can earn artifact fragments, either for elemental selection chests or seasonal unique artifacts. It looks simple at first, but a lot of players get confused about why they see different drops — that’s because there are actually two separate reward sets in this event, and you control which one you get.

This guide explains exactly how it works, how the pity mechanic functions, where to get crystal balls, and how the bundle values compare.

Event Mechanics

There are two separate drop sets in Stellar Compass:

  • Elemental Selection Fragments: Fire, Water, Lightning, Earth, and Wind Immortals
  • Seasonal Selection Chests: Unique artifacts for Margret, YSS, Louis, Seondeok, Artemisia, Pakal, Tokugawa, Matilda, Trajan, Cao Cao, Toyotomi, Darius, Mehmed, and Ragnar

You can’t get both at once — it’s one or the other depending on your reward pool. Which is nice, because having it mixed would get you just half the rewards you actually are out for! Very good.

If your board shows the wrong set (for example, you want Elemental but see Seasonal), tap “Reward Refresh.”

  • First refresh: free
  • After that: 10 gems per refresh
  • Refreshing resets your board and any progress, so only do it before spinning.

Each board always includes:

  • 4 fields that can drop 15 artifact fragments each
  • 0.8% chance per field (so 4 × 0.8% = 3.2% total per spin)

That means every crystal ball gives you about a 3.2% chance to land on one of those artifact fields.

Pity System

There’s a pity mechanic in Stellar Compass:

  • After 100 spins without any artifact drop, you’re guaranteed one.
  • The description says your “chance increases” after several misses, but no percentage change is visible.

So practically speaking, expect one artifact drop roughly every 30–35 spins on average, or 100 spins at worst (pity hit).

Bundle Pricing

Here’s a full comparison between the in-game shop and GTarcade bundles.

In-Game Shop Bundles

BundlePriceBallsBalls per $GemsDaily Stock
1$144.010012
2$5102.052010
3$10181.811008
4$20241.223006
5$50561.1260006
6$1001001.0125006

GTarcade Bundles

BundlePriceBallsBalls per $GemsDaily Stock
1$155.010
2$5122.410
3$10222.28
4$15302.06
5$1001321.326

Value Comparison

If you only care about crystal balls, GTarcade gives you better value across every price point.
But if you’re also chasing gems for fast progression, the in-game bundles are still good because of the gem bonus.

Realistically, most players won’t hit the daily stock limits since both stores reset each day. However, if you’re trying to push artifact progress quickly, mixing GTarcade’s cheaper bundles with in-game gem bundles is the best approach — that way, you stretch your money without running out of stock early.

Summary:

  • Best raw value → GTarcade $1 bundle (5 balls per $1)
  • Best mixed value (balls + gems) → In-game $1 bundle (4 balls + 100 gems)
  • Mix both if you’re pushing hard and want both balls + gems daily

Artifact Cost Estimate

Each artifact requires 60 fragments.

Each drop gives 15 fragments, so you need 4 successful drops to complete one artifact.

With a 3.2% total drop rate, you’ll average ~31 spins per artifact.
At pity (100 spins), that’s the guaranteed upper limit.

Now let’s translate that into money based on the best bundles:

In-Game (Best Low Tiers)

BundleBalls per $Avg Spins (31)Est. Cost per Artifact
$14.0$7.75$25
$52.0$15.5$50
$101.8$17.2$56

GTarcade (Best Low Tiers)

BundleBalls per $Avg Spins (31)Est. Cost per Artifact
$15.0$6.2$20
$52.4$12.9$41
$102.2$14.1$45

So generally, GTarcade saves you around 15–25% per artifact, depending on luck and bundle mix.

Free Crystal Ball Sources

For free-to-play or light spenders, there are a few ways to earn crystal balls outside bundles:

Redeem Event

Use Ancient Silvers from standard gameplay (gnomes, gathering, etc.).

  • 25 balls for 40 gems + 40 silvers each
  • 25 balls for 80 silvers each

That’s up to 50 balls total if you do both.

Wonderful Journey

Earn Dice from spending gems or completing Golden Path levels during the event.

  • Completing all stages = 100 crystal balls

If you line this up with the Redeem Event, you can collect around 150 balls per event cycle totally free.

In Wonderful Journey, your progress comes from rolling Dice, which move you around the board for rewards — and finishing all stages can net you up to 100 Crystal Balls.

You can’t buy Dice directly; instead, you earn them through two main actions:

  • Recharge 400 gems (by buying any in-game bundles) → 1 Dice
  • Spend 800 gems (for example, on Golden Path levels, Market refreshes, or building speedups) → 1 Dice

So if you recharge and spend normally during events, you’ll pick up Dice naturally in the background.

The key is timing — try to line up your regular spending with Wonderful Journey’s duration. You’ll earn Dice on both recharges and spending gems, for maximum efficiency.

Player Perspective

So, the main thing is to check your reward pool before you start. If you’re after seasonal artifacts, make sure the board says so — otherwise, you’re wasting spins.
The Reward Refresh button is the switch between the two pools, but any progress on the pity-bar will reset with it.

For spending strategy:

  • GTarcade is just better value per ball, no question.
  • But if you’re also climbing Golden Path or chasing gem-based progress, mixing in-game bundles helps if you struggle with gems.
  • Most players won’t hit daily stock caps, but for heavy spinners, running both stores in parallel ensures smooth progress.

I’d personally use GTarcade for the core rolls, and throw in the in-game $1 packs for the gems if you’re already active in events like Path of Gold or Dragon Treasure.

Conclusion

  • There are two separate drop sets — Elemental Selection and Seasonal Selection.
  • Switch between them using Reward Refresh (resets progress).
  • Artifact drop chance = 3.2% per spin, with pity at 100 spins.
  • GTarcade bundles give the best ball-per-dollar ratio, while in-game bundles give gem value.
  • F2P can earn ~150 crystal balls per event through Redeem + Wonderful Journey.
  • If you want fast progression, mix bundle types to expand daily stock — otherwise, GTarcade alone is the best deal.
