How to increase Physical and Magical attack – And how attributes impact damage

Introduction: What Does “Attack” Really Mean?
One of the most common questions new players ask in Infinity Kingdom is: “How do I raise my physical or magical attack from 3,000 to 5,000 or even 10,000+?” It’s a great question—and one that deserves a deep dive.
First, we need to clear up a common misconception: high attack stats do not directly equal high damage output. Think of attack as a foundation. The higher your base attack, the more potential damage you can do. But actual damage depends on many other factors like skills, debuffs, enemy defenses, criticals, and damage bonuses.

The Difference Between Attack and Damage
Let’s clarify with an example:
- A skill like Anger directly increases physical damage by 30%. This affects your actual damage output.

- A skill like Onslaught increases physical attack by 60%. This boosts your base attack stat but doesn’t guarantee more damage—it increases the possibility of doing higher damage.Basically, attributes are all part of the damage equation, whereas Anger and other damage modifiers apply as aplification after standard damage equation is calculated. Thus much stronger.

Anyway back to attributes… So if you have 5,000 physical attack and apply a 60% bonus:
- 5,000 x 1.6 = 8,000 physical attack
- This will not guarantee higher damage per hit, but it will increase the ceiling of what you can hit for.
How to Increase Physical or Magical Attack
There are several core areas to focus on if you want to increase your attack stats:
1. Gears and Equipment
Max out your Immortal’s gear to max level and socket appropriate attack gems (physical or magical depending on the Immortal).

- Gem upgrades make a big difference, especially at higher levels.
2. Artifacts
Artifacts are massive contributors to both physical and magical attack.
- Example: A maxed-out artifact with physical attack bonuses of 42% or more can raise your total by thousands.
- Look for artifacts with both % attack boosts and flat attack values (+350 or more).

3. Specialization Tree
Your Immortal Specialization Talents provides major boosts to attack stats.
- Example: Each node may provide +250 magical or physical attack.
- Fully unlocked trees can give 1,750–2,000 attack.
4. Mayor Bonuses
If you have a city mayor position that boosts attack, make use of it.
- Not always active, but very helpful when you’re building a high stat profile.
5. Immortal Portrait Leveling
Portrait bonuses (especially at level 20) can give additional % damage or attack boosts.

- These are especially powerful when combined with artifacts and gear.
Real Example: High-End Stats
Let’s take a look at a player like Lord Mora who has:
- 18,776 physical attack on a fully built Chaos Wukong

- This is thanks to:
- Maxed artifact: 49% + 16% suffix = 65% physical attack bonus
- Flat bonus of +1028 from gems
- Immortal Talent Tree maxed
- level 50 portrait

Note: Had he rolled a flat bonus on one of the remaining suffixes on the artifact he would have even hit well above 19,000+
Now compare that to a player with 12,000 attack?
- The 18,000 Wukong will deal higher average damage over time, but not necessarily 50% more damage every hit since the physical attack attribute is…. yes you remember from earlier: it’s part of the damage equation as one amongst multiple variables!
- Important side note: Damage also greatly depend on critical hits, skill multipliers, and enemy resistances.
Why It Matters: Attack vs. Consistent Output
Attack boosts are important, but they serve as part of a larger equation.
- Physical/Magical Attack increases potential output
- Physical/Magical Damage% skills like Anger or Fire Blessing increase actual output
You want to build both.
- Don’t just chase numbers—pair your high attack with proper damage-enhancing skills.
Final Tips for New Players
- Start with gear and gems. Easy to upgrade and impactful early.
- Prioritize artifacts. They scale hard with star level.
- Invest in Dragon Specializations. They add thousands of stats.
- Balance attack with damage%. One without the other limits your output.
- Don’t neglect portraits. They’re slow to build but give major long-term power.
Conclusion
Raising your physical or magical attack takes time and planning. Gear, gems, artifacts, portraits, and specialization trees all work together to increase your attack stats. And remember—attack increases your damage potential, but it’s your build and skills that turn that potential into consistent, high-performance output.
Keep building, and over time you’ll hit those crazy high attribute numbers and feel the difference every battle.
Happy upgrading!
