Medusa (chaos)
So, Medusa just dropped, and honestly she’s already looking like one of the spiciest Immortals IK has pushed out in a long while – while we do not know yet being released literally today as I write this – I do believe she will redefine the meta along with the new 2.8.9 ToK skills (read more under ToK skill guides or patch notes).

In this guide, I’ll run through what we actually know from her in-game description, how her stats translate into real gameplay, and some early thoughts on team setups and skill builds. Think of this as a veteran player reacting in real time while also trying to make sense of where she fits into the meta.
Medusa’s Stats – Why Her Energy Regen Is a Big Deal
The real headline with Medusa isn’t her damage or her CC. It’s that base Energy Regen of 122.1.

To put that in context:
- I was expecting maybe 90–100.
- She came in way above that.
- Maxed with boosts, she’s realistically landing somewhere around 135–145 Energy Regen.
That’s nuts…!
What that means in actual battles is:
- She isn’t getting stopped by anti-regen effects like Knife Through Butter.
- She’s firing her skills constantly, no matter what.
- In burst teams, that fast cycling is basically a win condition by itself.
Medusa’s Kit — Overtuned? Perhaps
Let’s break down the two main parts of her kit, based on what’s shown in-game.
1. Passive Damage: Up to 600%
Patch notes originally listed 500%, but IK literally wrote “you cannot refer to this” and told players to trust in-game text. And in-game? It clearly says 600%.

600% passive damage with her Energy Regen means:
- She hits harder and more often than e.g. Genghis.
- She becomes a consistent source of pressure instead of the usual “big moment, long wait.”
- This scales insanely well in full-burst teams like Fire.
2. Active Skill: Cleanse + 70% Petrify
Her active skill:
- Removes ALL debuffs from herself
- Fires a Petrification beam with up to 70% chance
The cleanse alone is already incredibly strong. But that 70% CC chance is quite massive!

For comparison:
- Ares’ Fright is 50%, and that still decides fights.
Honestly, this is the part that scares me the most. At 70%, she’s going to lock marches down constantly unless something counters her directly and given her speed I dont see much to actually stop her, especially paired with.. yes you guessed it: Ares for Fright. Maybe we will see those two being at the heart of the new meta.
Artifact (Case of Silence)
The artifact adds:
- Extra duration to the petrification effect (around +3 seconds)
- Which makes the CC even more oppressive when it lands.
If you pull her artifact early, she’s going to become a monster in CC-centric burst builds.
Skill Suggestions – Not Final, but Looking Strong
This is still early, but based on her design:
Top skill picks so far
These are the ones you mentioned and they logically make sense:
- Energy Mastery – Perfect synergy with her regen.
- Blade Dodge – Helps her survive burst focus when she becomes the enemy’s #1 target.
- Time to Shine – One of the best offensive boosters for fast-rotation Immortals.
- Demonic Contract – Works if your march can keep her alive long enough to output.
Because she fires so often, anything that feeds more casts or keeps her alive between casts is basically gold.
Conclusion Summary
Medusa looks extremely strong right out of the gate, mainly because of:
- Insane Energy Regen
- 600% passive damage
- 70% petrify chance with a cleanse
- Artifact that extends CC even further
Fire teams are the best fit for her so far, but she might splash into other lineups once players get hands-on time.
Bottom line:
If she plays even half as well as her numbers suggest, Medusa is likely going to reshape burst meta teams immediately. That being said, she released today, so these are naturally all just my ideas as to how the meta will change and how she will perform. Only time will tell if I am right!
