Forced Server Merge Notice – what does it mean?

Player Question of the Week: “What Does It Mean When You Get a Server Merge Notice for Conquest?”

Several alliances—including 325 and 328—recently received a Server Merge Notice for Conquest, and a lot of players have the same questions and concerns. Let’s walk through what this means, what happens to your alliance, and how to navigate the transition smoothly.

Frequently asked questions:

In this example, the player is in season 2 now and the servers are being merged in preperation for conquest.

Q: Will our number of members that our alliance can hold stay the same or will it be current number/new cap (100) since alliance technologies are getting reset and in that case will people get kicked or stay?

A:You are still in season 2 until you re-complete your chronicles. No conquest things take effect until chronicles are complete. Alliances start with the max 180 players. Big Family is not a research you will have to complete. Alliance levels and tech do reset, but there is a x5 multiplier on tech xp, so your alliances will be able to grow quickly. Most of the M14 alliances were level 10 within a couple weeks.

Q: Will the rules of conquest apply before we exit the 50 days or so period of the new chronicles? I.e. Will the castle color still matter at this point or can people go ahead and join any alliance no matter their color?

A: Conquest rules apply once the merge is complete, not during the notice phase.

Q: Can people jump out of this 50 day waiting period back into s2? Or do they have to move out now (7 days until merge). Seems like option is totally gone, just got report that they could not see the servers to move back to?

A: Unknown. People should be able to jump out if there are servers ready and open during the timing. Sadly, that seems to not be the case, from what I have seen the window for merger has not lined up with other servers within the same season being open and available – as with M14’s merge for example. Note that you would only be able to jump to the same season bracket as you are in, i.e. season 2. However, no one is able to jump to you as you are waiting a merge.

Alliance Capacity and Tech Reset: Will You Get Kicked Out?

When the merge hits, your alliance buildings, levels, and technologies reset to zero—but with a catch: tech XP comes with a 5× multiplier, meaning alliances can level back up rapidly.

What that means in practice is that alliances are immediately set to the maximum new member cap, which is your current cap or 180 players (depending on the merge rules). You don’t lose members, and nobody gets kicked out as a result of alliance tech resetting. Remember Caly’s experience with the M14 merge: they hit level 10 in just a few weeks.

TL;DR

  • Alliance tech and levels reset, but XP gains are accelerated (×5).
  • Alliance member cap resets to max (e.g. 180), so no one gets kicked.
  • Most alliances rebuild quickly post‑merge.

Do Conquest Draft Rules Apply Immediately?

Right after the merge, you’re still effectively in Season 2—nothing switches to Conquest rules until all members complete the Chronicles. That means no faction-based restrictions yet, and castle color doesn’t lock you into alliances.

In other words: you can join any alliance during this transition period without worrying about color alignment or immediate war rules. Conquest mechanics wait until Chronicle completion. Wiki & Tools | Infinity Kingdom

TL;DR

  • You stay in Season 2 until Chronicle is completed post‑merge.
  • Castle color and conquest rules don’t apply immediately.
  • You can freely switch alliances during this interim period.

Can You Jump Back into Season 2 from Conquest?

Unfortunately, once the merge is live, the only option available if you want to switch is to go to a Season 2 prep-zone—not into a full Season 2 server. That’s because the migration paths are limited: there’s no going backward from a Conquest zone or existing Season 2 server for a season 1 server anymore.

So if you were hoping to escape Conquest or find a different Season 2 environment, that chance is gone. The merge is effectively one-way.

TL;DR

  • Migration after the merge only allows movement to Season 2 prep zone.
  • You cannot jump back into a full Season 2 server.
  • The option to sidestep Conquest post-merge is effectively locked.

What This Means for You—and What You Should Do

  1. Alliance leaders—prepare your members. Let them know they won’t get kicked, but tech and alliance level resets are coming. Rebuilding will be quick thanks to the tech XP multiplier.
  2. Use the interim wisely. While you’re still in Season 2, take advantage—move alliances if needed, and coordinate Castle colors if strategizing ahead of Chronicle completion.
  3. Set migration priorities. If anyone on your team was hoping to escape into a fresh Season 2, they’re too late—plan for strong movement into your merged Conquest server instead.

Tip: Chronicle has been bugging upon server merge – what should you do?

The chronicles reset once your server is merged. That means you are going to be re-sieging Norheim and alliances will be fighting to compete on getting Chronicle first-rewards again. There has been reports from merged servers that the Chronicle timers are bugging, meaning that all timers are 1 day off. This is a big deal if you are aiming to complete the Norheim-first chronicle reward steps as the first alliance.

For example, this is M-020 which is a new server that has had others merged into it recently. The Dawn of Victory timer says 4 days …. but in reality the stage will open in 3 days and not 4. The timers are simply 1 day off.

Be aware during the first stages of your Chronicle to see if the timers are off or not.
