Bountiful Resource Nodes in Legion of Frostborne

Bountiful Resource Nodes are one of the most overlooked mechanics inside the Legion of Frostborne map. They are exclusive to the the Legion of Frostborne battlefield and do not exist in Norheim.

In practical terms, they are oversized, high-speed resource nodes that allow players to collect significantly more resources at a much faster rate than normal tiles. During PvP-heavy Legion of Frostborne seasons – when troop losses are constant and food consumption is relentless – these nodes go a long way to maintain resources during heavy troop training.

Let’s have a closer look at these nodes!

How Bountiful Nodes Work

Bountiful nodes differ from normal nodes in two key ways:

  1. Massively increased total resources
  2. Significantly higher base gathering speed

All four resource types (Food, Wood, Stone, Iron) can appear as Bountiful nodes—but only one type is active per day. The resource rotates daily.

Because of this rotation, efficient players track the cycle and adjust gathering priorities accordingly. For most players, you are going to be pressed for food to train troops during the season of combat – so make sure to take advantage of the food-days!

Bountiful Node Stats (Level 9–11)

Below is a direct comparison of Bountiful nodes by level.

Level 9 – Bountiful

  • Total Resources: 18,000,000
  • Default Gathering Speed: 2.3M/hour
  • City Ownership Bonus: +750k/hour

Level 10 – Bountiful

  • Total Resources: 24,000,000
  • Default Gathering Speed: 2.8M/hour
  • City Ownership Bonus: +900k/hour

Level 11 – Bountiful

  • Total Resources: 30,000,000
  • Default Gathering Speed: 3.3M/hour
  • City Ownership Bonus: +1.1M/hour

Normal Nodes (For Comparison)

To understand how strong Bountiful nodes are, compare them to standard nodes:

Level 9 – Normal

  • Total: 9,000,000
  • Speed: 890k/hour
  • City Bonus: +500k/hour

Level 10 – Normal

  • Total: 12,000,000
  • Speed: 1M/hour
  • City Bonus: +600k/hour

Level 11 – Normal

  • Total: 15,000,000
  • Speed: 1.2M/hour
  • City Bonus: +700k/hour

The Thermal Tower Bonus

When a node is inside Thermal Tower range (not in snow), gathering speed increases by 25% for both normal and Bountiful nodes.

This multiplier applies to the base gathering rate and stacks with the city ownership bonus as listed above.

For example:

  • A Level 11 Bountiful node at 3.3M/hour
  • With Thermal Tower bonus → ~4.125M/hour
  • With city ownership bonus (+1.1M/hour) → ~5.225M/hour

At that rate, even a 30M node empties extremely quickly.

Positioning matters. Securing large areas of Thermal coverage to increase your chances of high-level Bountiful nodes in your owned zones is a huge resource engine.

Why Food-Day Matters Most

For most active PvP players, Food-day is the most important rotation.

Food is consumed in three primary ways during Legion of Frostborne:

  1. Troop training
  2. Hospital recovery
  3. Ongoing troop upkeep

During heavy fighting weeks, Food becomes the bottleneck resource far more often than Wood, Stone, or Iron. I have consistently found that during high-intensity wars, Wood and Stone remain stable while Food drops to zero repeatedly.

When I ran extended front-line pushes in a PvP-dense Frostborne season, securing Bountiful Food nodes allowed me to maintain continuous troop training without dipping into speedups or resource items. Without them, I would have stalled within two days.

For competitive players, Food-day is effectively a scheduled recovery window.

Rotation Strategy: PvP vs Relaxed Seasons

During PvP-Heavy Seasons

  • Prioritize the daily Bountiful resource, especially focus on Food-day.
  • But do not go out of your way for the other resource nodes, since maintaining strategic positioning is key – you can’t farm all days!
  • Gather under Thermal Tower coverage if possible even from long range in your secured zones with none-combat ready armies (low STP).

During Relaxed or Low-Conflict Seasons

  • If PvP pressure is low, rotate gathering evenly across all resource days.
  • Spend your thermals to cover zones you own the city off to increase the thermal coverage for optimal farming.

In calmer Frostborne seasons, your bottleneck shifts toward overall development—research, buildings, and general progression. In these cases, maximizing total gathering throughput across all rotations provides better long-term growth than over-focusing on Food alone.

Conclusion Summary

Bountiful Resource Nodes are one of the most powerful economic mechanics inside Legion of Frostborne:

  • They contain double the total resources of normal nodes.
  • They offer dramatically faster base gathering speeds.
  • They benefit from both Thermal Tower (25%) and city ownership bonuses.
  • Only one resource type appears per day, rotating regularly.
  • Food-day is usually the highest priority during heavy PvP seasons.

Players who track rotations and position intelligently will sustain troop production longer, recover faster, and apply more battlefield pressure over time.
