Everything you need to know before going into season 2

Season 2 is where Infinity Kingdom really starts to open up. If Season 1 felt like learning the basics and slowly piecing together your marches, Season 2 is where you get bombarded with new systems, new immortals, and new spending traps. The good news is, this is also where you can separate yourself from casual players if you play smart. Here’s a full breakdown of what’s new, what’s worth focusing on, and where most players go wrong when stepping into Season 2.

Immortal Talents

  • Unlocked in Season 2. You’ll now start upgrading Immortal Talents using new resources found in the Well of Time Elite (Marks and Insight Books)
  • The main way you get these materials is from the Elite Well of Time, which is basically the upgraded version of the WoT you’ve been doing. There is one other way to get Insight books – from the shop. If you spend 10$ in the shop you can buy 5 extra attempts per day (huge value) and you will also get 6 Insight books per day. This is one of the best values in the game (monthly 10$ purchase).
  • Priority tip: Always do your daily Elite Well of Time attempts.

Upgrade order: focus on your main DPS first. If this is a backline DPS like Himiko, Merlin, Wu, etc., you want to upgrade your backline supports along with it. I keep my Wu and my Qin at the same level and progress them togeather.

You get slightly more damage gain on the damage dealer Per upgrade level you get 5.5% damage and 2.5% crit rate using the best mage talents Stormeye and by comparison you get 4% damage and 20 initial energy from a support rank upgrade. Basically, if all cost where equal the impact of upgrading mage would be greater, but given the increased cost as you get into high levels you are better off developing both. Read more here.

  • Tanks and frontline should be the last ones you worry about. Getting 1 level is generally good since it activates the talent ability/effect, moreover unlocking just the first level means you can begin upgrading minor nodes with your Marks instead of banking insane amounts while you are bottlenecked on Insight books.

Dragon Specialization Trees

  • Season 2 adds a new grind: specialization trees for your dragons.
  • These require Dragon Crystals (farm them constantly, don’t slack) and Dragon Essences (rarer, from events like Sparks of Galaxy, Rebel Camps, and bundles).

Detailed guide on Dragon Talents can be found here.

Tl;dr without the big explanations – you generally want to go through the following upgrade path:

  • First push to 2/2, then get Claw and Armor to level 3.
  • Unlock your dragon’s specialization skills and bring damage/defense nodes to 3/3.
  • Skip upgrades on low-value stuff like resilience and accuracy until later.
  • Max Claw/Armor to 5/5, then keep pushing through the new specialization skills to reach the second Claw and Armor, which you also max.
  • Spending on Dragon Essences is optional — they’re not as expensive as they used to be, but they are not available in abundance for free. You can earn them free from Illusion Battle League shop, the weekly bundles, etc., but generally the most you get are from the Sparks of Galaxy event where you can spend gems or money on draws. Dragon Essences are very high chanced drop here (4×17% drop rate).

New Immortals in the Pool

  • The Hall of Summoning gets new Season 2 immortals: Ragnar, Artemisia, Matilda, and Darius.
  • If you’ve been saving Philosopher’s Stones, this is where they pay off. If not… you’ll feel behind here.

Chaos Immortals Arrive

  • Season 2 introduces Chaos Immortals, the next big rarity tier for immortals.
  • They’re brutally expensive. They need more fragments to upgrade than Epic/Holy/Shadow (1640 total), plus you need even more fragments to unlock their talents.

Whales will start grabbing them immediately, but for most players this is a slow build. Think of Chaos like a long-term project, not a quick win. Most players are going to slow build these relying on seasonal events, and on the new Peak Battle Pass (out soon) with Chaos Immortals more readily available than the current Peak Pass, more on that once it is live on servers (from what I can see at the moment, the new Peak Pass will roughtly make Chaos fragments 5x faster obtainable for players spending only on battle passes and not expensive Roulette events).

Sparks of Galaxy Event

  • This event becomes your best friend in Season 2 if you’re into Holy/Shadow builds.

Unlike Theia’s Roulette (Season 1’s pain), Sparks gives Holy/Shadow fragments at a fraction of the cost. Expect the 1020 fragments required to max stars and unlock artifact to cost from 400-650$ in Sparks of Galaxy, scaling depending on the speed at which you need it finished (buying only cheapest or not). More on that in seperate guide. Remember you need more fragments for Immortal Talents in season 2. You wont need these right away since you progress with Insight Books daily, but by the end of the season you will have maxed talents and need 4,750 fragments doing so. Read more here.

On top of that, Sparks also drops Dragon Crystals and even a few Dragon Essences, making it one of the most value-packed events in the game. Still whale territory, but at least you get more for your money.

Wheel of Stardust Changes

In Season 1, the Wheel of Stardust is crazy good value, especially if you spend.

But in Season 2, it shifts focus toward Crimsons, and Stardust becomes way harder and more expensive to get.

If you’re still in Season 1 right now: bank as much Stardust as possible and spend on the Wheel while the value is insane. You’ll thank yourself later.

Legendary Battle Pass

Season 1 had Golden Path + Holy/Shadow passes.

Season 2 has the Golden Path, as well as the Legendary Battle Pass, which gives you Holy and Shadow immortals and Unique Artifacts using the same principles as the Golden Path you are used to (but more expensive) and you also get the new Peak Battle Pass at castle level 50 which gives Chaos Selection Chests.

Honestly, this is one of the best value purchases in the game, especially if you’re looking to build Chaos over time. In the new versions of these passes you are able to spend the Insigna Currency from Legendary and Peak pass cross battle pass shops which means that both unlocks are huge value for anyone looking for holy, shadow or chaos.

Note: At the time of writing (22th of september 2025) we have a new Peak Battle Pass being released, but we are waiting for the old one the finish up. Once you read this, go ahead and checkout my guide on the Peak Battle Pass, which will be done as soon as the new version is live.

Artifact Quality Upgrades

  • Up until now, you’ve only been leveling and star-rank upgrading artifacts.
  • Season 2 adds Artifact Quality upgrades, which make them even stronger.
  • Materials for these are limited — the Mysterious Pearl shop’s daily materials are a must-buy if you’re spending. They’re worth it all season long, and events won’t hand them out often.

Main recommendations

Main things to remember going into season 2:

  1. Never miss a Elite Well of Time day — talents beef up your marches hard.
  2. Farm dragon crystals like a maniac in season 1 and bank them in anticipation of Dragon Specialization, but don’t waste money on essences instead make sure to participate in the first Sparks of Galaxy event in the new season, using either money or gems.
  3. Sparks of Galaxy is my go-to spend event. If I’m running Holy/Shadow, this is where I find the most value in season 2 in general.
  4. Take the Legendary Battle Pass and the Peak Battle Pass every month if you are a spender. Make sure to always complete the quests, like you know from Golden Path. Long-term Chaos progress is king.
  5. Save Stardust in Season 1 like your life depends on it. Once you’re in Season 2, you’ll see how rough it gets.

Conclusion

Season 2 is where Infinity Kingdom starts to feel like a real climb. There are a lot of new opportunities to increase power and you will see marches increase in power fast. Talents, dragons, Chaos immortals, artifact upgrades — it’s a lot. But if you focus on the right systems (Elite Well of Time, Sparks of Galaxy, Dragon Specialization), you’ll set yourself up way ahead of most players!
