Patch 2.8.8 – Legendary Season

The Wildfire Furnace embers are burning hot and the team behind IK is ready to drop the new Legendary Season, introducing level 60 cap across buildings, Immortals, dragons, gnomes, tech—the works. With new ranks, levels and tiers comes new materials and systems:
- Energy Core gating for building upgrades (new currencies: Azure & Stellar Crystals).
- Mythic equipment reforges with random attributes (bound to the Immortal).
- Elemental Domain boss dungeons on a weekly elemental schedule.
- Alliance-based KVK registration and new migration rules centered on a server-wide Command Power metric.
This guide translates the patch notes into practical gameplay: what changes, why it matters, and how to prep so day one of Legendary Season feels like an acceleration, not a wall.
Full patch notes available here.

Level 60 Expansion – What Actually Changes
1) Buildings → 60 via Energy Cores
Energy Cores control your path to Lv60. Each Core has 5 tiers, every tier has 3 stages. You inject energy with Azure or Stellar Crystals; once a Core hits stage 3, you can upgrade to the next tier by consuming normal resources.
- Azure Crystals: After entering Legendary Season and reaching Forge Lv55, you can convert Food/Wood/Stone/Iron into Azure in the Forge.
- Stellar Crystals: From events (details vary per cycle).

Why this matters: You can’t brute-force to 60 with only speedups and mats. The Core stages throttle pace. Start thinking of resource → Azure conversion as a long-term sink, and time your event play for Stellar injections.
Prep tips
- Push Forge to 55 before Oct 20 if you can, so Azure conversion is unlocked immediately once you’re in Legendary.
- Bank standard resources and speedups; you’ll redirect a chunk into Azure instead of raw building.
2) Equipment → Legendary+ & Mythic Reforges

Gnomes Lv56+ can drop Legendary+ gear that levels to 60. Once strengthened to 60, you can reforge to Mythic using:
- [Class + Slot Forging Stone] and [Forging Hammer] to perform the reforge.
- Reforged Mythic pieces are bound to the Immortal, cannot be removed, and gain 1–5 random attributes.
- Rerolls: Use Tempering Elixirs + Forging Hammers to reroll random attributes.
- Sources for these mats: Well of Time – Elemental Domain (see below).
Why this matters: Mythic attributes are the real stat ceiling. Binding means fewer hand-me-downs; plan who gets Mythic first. The random lines introduce chase/variance like Artifacts—expect a min–max grind.
Prep tips
- Farm and stash Well of Time currency; clear daily once Legendary starts.
- Decide priority Immortals per march; once you bind a Mythic, it’s committed.
- Keep a reroll budget (Elixirs/Hammers) to avoid getting stuck with dead stats.
3) Elemental Domain (Oct 20, 00:00 UTC)

A new event featuring eight elemental dungeons: Water, Fire, Wind, Lightning, Earth, Holy, Shadow, Chaos.
Weekly schedule
- Mon: Water
- Tue: Fire
- Wed: Wind
- Thu: Lightning
- Fri: Earth
- Sat–Sun: All elements (Water, Fire, Wind, Lightning, Earth, Holy, Shadow, Chaos)
Rules
- Element lock: Only Immortals/dragons of that element can enter that day’s dungeon.
- 3 challenges/day; attempts reset daily.
- Rewards scale with boss remaining HP after your run.
Unknown details: It’s still unclear whether this event is personal, server-wide, or cross-server. Stay tuned for confirmation when it goes live.
Why this matters: Progression mats for Mythic gear are time-gated by element days. If you don’t have depth in an element, your income is worse that day. Saturday/Sunday become catch-up windows.
Prep tips
- Bench-build: Promote/star-up side-element Immortals so they can hold 3 skills even if you don’t dust them yet. Example: if you don’t main Water, star up Merlin so he can carry good gold skills on Mondays.

- For instance, a Seondeok is awesome in PvE content, so get her star ranks done and use her during fire tuesdays!
- Don’t blow stardust on off-march units yet; prioritize stars → skill slots.
- Keep flexible gold skill pools to re-slot between elements.
4) Other Cap Increases
- Resource points / Gnomes / Mech bosses / Lord Lv → all to 60.
- Immortals: Lv60; Boost Level cap 35 (SP bottles matter again).
- Dragons: Lv60; new talent nodes (expect both skill trees to reach Lv10 nodes).
- Barracks: Higher-tier troops unlock.
- Tower of Knowledge: New skills unlock with higher levels.
- Academy: New Technologies; focus PvP stats first.
- Well of Time & Elite dungeons: New chapters.
- Fortification: Higher wall tiers.
Why this matters: It’s a total-stat jump across every layer. Expect arena/KVK DPS and tank checks to rise quickly once a few whales hit 35 boosts and Lv10 dragon nodes.
Prep tips
- Hoard SP bottles and dragon crystals; those two are immediate, visible power spikes.
- Save unclaimed daily/quest EXP on alts/mains if you were holding them—turn-in post-60 unlock to jump-start Lord levels.
- Prioritize Academy lines that directly give Atk/Def/HP for your main march types.
Legendary Season – Structure & KVK Flow

Opening & Off-Season
- Opens Oct 20, 00:00 UTC for servers that joined preview (S1–S232; M1–M12).
- First off-season before the first Legendary KVK is extended to 30 days; later ones revert to 14 days.
Why this matters: You get a one-time month to climb the new caps before the first Legendary KVK. Plan your alliance’s upgrade sprint around this window.

Alliance Registration (Legion of Frostborne)
- Registration/matchmaking/settlement are now Alliance-based.
- Window: 72 hours after off-season opens.
- Who registers: R6/R5 (manual). After deadline, the system can auto-assign alliances to factions based on active members and power.
- Skip rule: Alliances that participated in the previous round can choose to skip the current one (not for brand-new/no-history alliances).
- Alliance lock after the deadline: you’re bound to your alliance for that KVK. Leaving and coming back to the same alliance is okay; switching alliances or migrating blocks entry for that round. New joiners after the deadline cannot participate that round.
Why this matters: No more freewheeling alt alliance hopscotch mid-season. Leadership needs to coordinate who’s in before the deadline and avoid late swaps.
Migration Overhaul – Command Power & Slots

Command Power
Each server calculates daily at 00:00 UTC the average of top players’ historical highest power. That average is the server’s Command Power benchmark.
Special Migration Slots
- If a player’s historical highest lord power ≥ Command Power of the target server, they must consume 1 Special Migration Slot from that server to move in. Otherwise, no slot needed.
- Slot quantities by season:
- Season 1: 3 per server
- Season 2: 5 per server
- Conquest: 8 per server
- Legendary: 8 per server
- Slots refresh when the server enters a new season.
King Settings
- Allow Special Migration: High-power players (≥ Command Power) can enter by consuming slots; others free.
- Disallow Special Migration: Blocks all players ≥ Command Power. Others free.
- If there’s no King, the last saved King setting persists.
What this changes in practice
- Kings become gatekeepers. Recruitment of whales is a strategic resource decision.
- Scarcity: A tiny slot pool forces alliances to rank recruits and coordinate multi-player moves.
- Season timing matters: Some groups will wait for a season change to refresh slots.
Server strategy notes
- New S1/S2: Protects early ecosystems; only a handful of over-cap players can enter.
- Conquest/Legendary: Still tight. Expect pre-arranged slot reservations and audits of candidate historical highest.
New Tower Skill – Fully Prepared

- Type: Offensive Immortal only. Mutually exclusive with Counterattack (cannot equip both).
- Effect: Each normal attack increases damage dealt by 1.8% + 0.6%/level and reduces damage taken by 1.5% + 0.5%/level, stacking up to 10 times.
- Acquisition: Wisdom Well event.
- Suggested users (from notes): Ares, Alexander, Hannibal, Wukong, Poseidon, etc.
How it plays
- It’s a ramp skill keyed to basic attack cadence. On fast-hitting or extended fights, the stack cap yields notable DPS + survivability. On burst/short fights, it may underperform immediate-value skills.
- Clashes with Counterattack builds—so choose between sustained ramp vs reactive damage loops.
Meta note: While this skill seems tuned to boost Ares, it could actually push Alexander back into meta relevance. With multiple attack speed-based skills now in circulation, Alex’s value in sustained DPS comps may surge again.
Quality-of-Life & Economy Tweaks
- Forge conversion: Each converted item can be collected immediately; Gold requires at least 10,000 per collect. You can manually input conversion amounts now.
- Alliance Help now works on Dragon upgrades (huge time saver post-55).
- Battle Pass (Golden Path): Daily purchasable levels cap raised to 30 (applies next BP cycle after the update; missed days don’t roll over).
- Daily Mission Lord EXP for Lv41–55 increased from 200 → 500.
- Bug Fix: Iron Curtain no longer weakens enemies’ barriers if they have no barrier effects active (fixes unintended interactions).
Why this matters
- Faster dragon timelines during Legendary sprint.
- Early/mid accounts climb Lord levels faster, helping them reach 55/Legendary gating.
- BP buyers can compress progress per day, but not retroactively.
Practical Day‑1 Plan (Oct 20 Legendary Unlock)
- Forge 55 check → Start Azure conversion loop.
- Academy → Queue first PvP-stat techs unlocked by 56–60 tiers, unless major dev. nodes are available. Look for Troop count and Crit Damage (unknown if added, what I will look for first once patch drops).
- Dragon → Upgrade + spam Alliance Help; aim for new Lv10 nodes quickly.
- Immortal boosts → Pump SP to your main carry line; aim Tier 34–35 on DPS first.
- Elemental Domain → Hit the day’s element with a pre-built bench; use weekend to make up weak elements.
- Gear → Push Legendary+ to 60 on your #1 DPS, then Mythic reforge; keep mats for rerolls.
- Alliance admin → Handle KVK registration within the 72h window; lock rosters early; communicate migration stance with the King.
Conclusion Summary
- Legendary Season is a systems gate: Energy Cores, Elemental Domain, and Mythic reforges will pace your progress more than raw speedups.
- Mythic gear + Immortal Tier 35 + Dragon Lv10 nodes are the big three power spikes. Plan mats and rerolls around your primary DPS.
- Alliance/KVK becomes more administrative: registration windows, roster locks, and migration slots turn kingship into a strategic role.
- Bottom line: Prep your Forge, hoard SP/dragon mats, build minimal element benches, and align your alliance on migration/KVK logistics before Oct 20.
Notes & Sources
- All mechanics and dates come from the official v2.8.8 patch notes included above. Some creators referenced a client patch on Oct 16 from social posts; the Legendary Season unlock and Elemental Domain are explicitly Oct 20, 00:00 UTC in the notes.
