Patch 2.9.1 – Factory Event (new), Galaxy retired, new skill currency for legendary skills, etc.
Patch v2.9.1 – First Look at What’s Changing and What It Means
Introduction
Patch v2.9.1 is a systems-focused update for Infinity Kingdom. Rather than introducing new immortals or combat mechanics, this patch adjusts how several core events, seasonal systems, and interfaces work. The goal is clearer progression, more predictable rewards, and fewer confusing or underused mechanics.

Below, I’ll go through the patch notes section by section, explaining what each change does and what it practically means for players.
New Features
1. Manufacturing Factory Event
What’s in the patch notes
- A brand-new recurring event called Manufacturing Factory
- Active every Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday
- Unlocks once a server is 75 days old
- Uses a new interaction with Energy Cores:
- Each Energy Core used gives a random reward and fills an energy bar
- When energy reaches 100%, you receive a Rune Insignia
- Energy then resets, allowing the process to repeat
- Rune Insignias can be exchanged for rare rewards
- The old Sparks of Galaxy event is removed
- Frosty Orbs can be exchanged for Energy Cores at a 3:1 ratio
What this means
This event replaces Sparks of Galaxy entirely. Instead of a single-event currency with a fixed reward structure, progress is now tied to filling an energy meter repeatedly. The system is designed to reward ongoing participation rather than one-time spending. How precisely this event will impact players grinding e.g. shadow immortal fragments via the Galaxy event, is unknown. Will it be cheaper than Galaxy? We just do not know yet, but if it is anything like the re-work that introduces Zuma towers we can expect a cost increase in exchange for new reward possibilities.

The Frosty Orb exchange ensures older resources don’t become useless, but at a reduced conversion rate. Players should expect this event to become part of regular weekly activity rather than a skippable side event.
If we are able to get a sneak peek at this event, I will make sure to drop a news article while event is yet pre-released. Stay tuned for news here on site.
2. VIP Privilege Expansion
What’s in the patch notes
- New summon options unlocked at higher VIP levels:
- VIP 10: 10-pull summons
- VIP 15: 20-pull summons
- These apply to:
- Theia’s Roulette
- Sparks of Galaxy / Manufacturing Factory
- Wisdom Well
What this means
This is a convenience upgrade for higher-VIP players. Instead of performing many single summons, players can now bundle pulls together. This does not change odds or rewards, but it reduces time spent interacting with these events and makes large summon sessions easier to manage.
Optimizations
1. Wisdom Well Adjustments

What’s in the patch notes
- The ban function has been removed
- Acquisition methods adjusted for:
- Ability Stones
- Unique Artifact Schematic Fragments
- New item added: Wisdom Elixir
- Wish Shop updates:
- Wisdom Elixir can be used to buy Epic and Legendary Skills
- Cinder of Wishes remains usable for Epic Skills, Schematics, and Alchemy Stones
- Skill availability rules clarified:
- Epic Skills available starting Season 0
- Legendary Skills available starting Season 1
- Epic Skills rotate into the Point Shop the following season
What this means
Wisdom Well is being simplified and made more structured. Removing the ban function eliminates an option most players didn’t use. Adding Wisdom Elixir another direct connection between Wisdom Well participation and skill acquisition through the Wish Shop. This is perhaps one of the biggest items in the 2.9.1 patch, as we are going to see legendary skills becoming easier to obtain (still expensive and pay-walled entirely, but cheaper). This is very good news and something I am looking very much forward to. I am going to be skipping a round of Wisdom Well myself to bank Divine Coins in anticipation of the 2.9.1 patch change.
2. Zuma Tower Event Adjustments

What’s in the patch notes
- Items in the Zuma Shop now have daily purchase limits
- Colosseum skin fragments added to the shop
- The skin can be upgraded visually
What this means
Daily limits prevent players from buying large quantities of shop items in a single event. Skin fragments add another long-term cosmetic upgrade path.
3. Battle Pass Opening Time Optimization
What’s in the patch notes
- Peak Battle Pass now unlocks 90 days after server launch
What this means
Battle Pass access is super important to player growth, making this a simple but very good change for newer players.
Legion of Frostborne Optimizations
1. Legendary Season Changes
What’s in the patch notes
- Middle Ring entry requirement reduced:
- From 3,600,000 to 2,800,000 Faction Points
- Legion Personal Achievements now vary by Lord Contract
- Some achievements:
- Require specific zones
- Require investing talent points to activate contract talents
What this means
Entering the Middle Ring becomes easier for legions, reducing progression bottlenecks. Personal achievements are now tied to a player’s chosen contract, meaning different roles within a legion are evaluated differently.
2. Altar Stone Optimizations
What’s in the patch notes
- Altar Stone and Thermal Tower ranges now displayed using tiles
- New View Range button in Legendary Season
- Attack ranges show different colors for allies vs enemies
- When exposed, all inner city tiles become attackable
- Core Durability now shown in City Info
What this means
These are interface clarity improvements. Players can more easily see ranges, understand targeting, and assess city durability without guessing or opening multiple screens.
3. Season 1 & 2 Off-Season Changes
What’s in the patch notes
- Once server requirements are met:
- A unified 5-day wait before matchmaking begins
- A visible matchmaking countdown is added in the Preparation Zone
- Corrosive Power unlock level adjusted to Tower of Knowledge level 40 (season 0): The Corrosive Power adjustment makes that skill available earlier, smoothing progression through Tower of Knowledge – that being said, it is still technically the most expensive skill in the game only available through the low % skill stone chests from Wisdom Well.
What this means
Off-season timing becomes clearer and more predictable. Players and legions can see exactly when matchmaking will begin instead of waiting without clear indicators.
4. Season Interface Server List Optimization
What’s in the patch notes
- Server lists now show round numbers in Conquest and Legendary Seasons
What this means
At a glance, players can see which round a server is in, making it easier to understand progression and matchups across seasons.
Conclusion
Patch v2.9.1 focuses on clarity, structure, and long-term usability. Events are streamlined, seasonal systems are easier to read, and underused mechanics are removed or replaced. Rather than changing how battles are fought, this update changes how players interact with the game’s systems—making progression more transparent and easier to plan around as Infinity Kingdom moves forward into 2026.
