Fire – Master of the Chase
This guide is part of my article series on Prime League Illusion Builds. If this build is not to your likeing, have a look at the rest of my builds on the main Prime League page.
This build is made for: Beginning of Pre-league
This article is on fire with Baldwin. It focuses on magic damage and boosting the AOE damage nuke of chase to the absolute max. The idea is simple, that with everything being low level and without tech, VIP and other buffs, normal magic users will have too little crit to consistently proc chase (an absolute monster of a nuke spell). But with Williams Crit buff and enough dmg instances, we should be able to proc chase consistently (DB has the highest amount of dmg instances, making it the best proc-ability in the game, hence used to proc at base level). Moreover, we are mixing elements here, since we want Baldwin to keep the enemy debuffed and thus taking 30% additional magic damage from chase as well as Wu and Baldwin ultimate abilities and additional passives. We also want as high uptime as possible on crit buff, thus using adrenaline + fighting master on William making him a machine!
Empress Wu: Concentration + Fire Nova + Annihilation
Baldwin: Chase + Toxic Nova + Death Breath
William: Fighting Master + Anger + Adrenaline Rush
Hippolyta: Weakness + Blessing of War + Oaken Guard
Setup 2 – fast Baldwin Debuff
With this modification, we are getting Baldwins debuff off quickly to have it on when Chase begins to proc. We are also boosting energy regen significantly in contrast to the above while removing our physical damage output and lowering crit slightly.
Strengths and weaknesses
This setup is built around nuking the enemy hard with AoE magic damage. As such, it enjoys the advantage of being a killer of utility setups like Qin Wind or Khan lightning. You want to run this setup if you think many other people will be going Wind.
Problem is if you are fighting an enemy that simply does not die. If you end up having to chew through someone who has build a defensive earth march, you might get in trouble! I am not sure there is enough burst to get through Charles and Zeno in time… time will tell!
On the other hand, it will kill Wind, Lightning and other fire teams!
This is a risky build, that requires some theorycrafting to work out in action. I will personally be playing this setup with an ultra defensive earth secondary team (see guide). I believe many people will be running wind teams which this will beat in 1:1. Moreover, since we are going to rely on rallying in Prime League (power distance simply not there) having high damage output marches will be very strong. In conclusion, a bursty and risky march that I look forward to trying!
