Infinity Kingdom Guide: Daily Pearls Shop Update (Patch 2.8.7)

With patch 2.8.7, the Daily Pearls Shop received a big update: you can now directly buy Unique Artifacts using Mysterious Pearls. For many players, this looks tempting — but is it really worth it? Let’s break it down in detail.

What’s New in the Pearls Shop?

There are now two new artifact purchase options:

  1. Shadow/Holy Immortal Unique Artifact Chest
    • Cost: 360 Mysterious Pearls
    • Gives a unique artifact for a Shadow or Holy immortal.
  2. Golden Path Season Selection Chest
    • Cost: 240 Mysterious Pearls
    • Lets you pick a unique artifact for one of the Golden Path immortals.
    • Immortals included: Matilda, Yi Sun-Sin (YSS), Seon, Artemisia, Louis IX, Tokugawa, Trajan, Cao Cao, Ragnar, Darius, and a handful of others.

Why This Is Important

Unique artifacts are power spikes. They unlock the full potential of an immortal and are often the difference between a mid-tier build and a meta build. Until now:

  • Holy/Shadow artifacts have been relatively accessible via events, rewards, and steady progression.
  • Golden Path artifacts, on the other hand, have been extremely limited. Unless you participated heavily in Golden Path seasons, getting them was nearly impossible.

So this change gives players another way to get their hands on rare season-specific uniques — but at a steep cost.

Cost Analysis

Let’s break down what these purchases actually mean in gem and dollar terms.

Golden Path Selection Chest (240 Pearls)

  • Gem value: ~7,920 gems
  • Dollar equivalent: $72 if you buy Pearls through Daily Pearl packs
  • Time: 12 days of buying Daily Pearls packs to accumulate enough currency
  • Comparison: You obtain the same item for 600 Golden Path coins = 9,000 gems ($81.8)

💡 Key takeaway: Similar cost to GP uniques, but without grinding Golden Path.

Shadow/Holy Artifact Chest (360 Pearls)

  • Gem value: ~11,880 gems
  • Dollar equivalent: $108 purchased via Daily Pearl packs
  • Time: 18 days of Pearl purchases to gather enough currency

💡 Key takeaway: Overpriced compared to how many Holy/Shadow artifacts you can naturally obtain through events and game rewards.

Veteran Recommendation

1. Do NOT buy the Shadow/Holy Unique Chest

  • You’ll naturally collect plenty of Shadow and Holy uniques just by playing.
  • Events flood you with Shadow/Holy artifact fragments over time. If you main shadow or holy you likely do not need one more expensive artifact, but if you do – hey, it’s here!
  • Spending 360 Pearls here is a trap for newer players who don’t yet see how common these will become.

2. Golden Path Selection Chest: Only If You Desperately Need It

  • This is the only good reason to spend Pearls here.
  • If you are actively running Golden Path immortals (Fu Fei/YSS/Seon/Artemisia builds are still quite relevant for mid-spenders), this can save your build.
  • But beware: 240 Pearls is still very expensive. Think carefully before pulling the trigger.

3. Grind Golden Path for Free Whenever Possible

  • Don’t forget you can still earn Golden Path currency for free through consistent participation.
  • The Daily Pearls option should be treated as a last resort if you absolutely cannot wait.

Final Thoughts

The Daily Pearls Shop update is a mixed bag:

  • The Shadow/Holy option is essentially a Pearl sink — avoid it.
  • The Elemental Selection chest, while expensive, is an option for players who wants to rush artifacts for the seasonal immortals, players who missed or skipped earlier seasons or who just need a critical artifact to unlock fast to unluck a new build’s full power.
