Energy Master
Introduction
Energy Master is one of the most influential Legendary skills in Infinity Kingdom, and it has reshaped how backline carries function in Conquest. When you run a mage or bowman with Energy Master, you always want to pair that carry with a support immortal running Battle Excitation. This pairing is the engine behind the modern ultimate-cycling meta: the support accelerates the initial energy curve, and Energy Master ensures the backline carry never slows down once casting begins.

The result is a dramatic shift away from older double-healer or bruiser-carry setups. In Conquest, the defining hallmark of a competitive march is a backline damage dealer whose ultimate fires rapidly and repeatedly, supported by both talents and skills designed to maintain that cycle.
Let’s break down how Energy Master accomplishes this.
1. What Energy Master Does and Why It’s Meta-Defining
Energy Master provides:
- A large instant energy refund every time the immortal casts an ultimate.
- A significant energy-skill damage increase for several seconds after each cast.
- A cast rhythm that becomes progressively faster as the battle continues.

Together, these effects do far more than increase damage:
Energy Master changes the entire pace of a fight. It frontloads enormous burst damage while pushing cast frequency far beyond what older builds could achieve. Instead of waiting for the typical ramp-up to full energy, your carry enters a loop where ultimates are fired in rapid succession, and each cast fuels the next. This extremely compressed damage window is what has defined the meta in the Conquest era.

2. Energy Master and the Ultimate-Cycling Engine
2.1 How the Core Loop Works
The typical structure is:
- Backline carry (mage or archer) → has Energy Master.
- Backline support → runs Battle Excitation talents to boost initial energy.
- Frontline tanks/supports → stabilize the fight and create time for the carry to cycle.

You can also run Rage Blessing on a tank or support.
Rage Blessing provides a 3/4 chance to grant your team additional energy regeneration, and in practice, this often lands on your carry. When it does, it accelerates the cycle even further, reinforcing the Energy Master engine.

2.2 What This Looks Like in Combat
Once the carry fires the first ultimate:
- Energy Master immediately refunds a large portion of the bar.
- If you pair it with Corrosive Power, you add drip-feed energy on damage ticks.
- Battle Excitation and Rage Blessing smooth the regen between casts.
See the energy of Himiko on the right side, her energy is being refunded as she casts and as she deals damage in this video. This is ult-cycling using Energy Master and Corrosive Power.
You no longer watch your carry drop to low energy and slowly climb back up. Instead, ultimates appear rapidly, one after another, and opponents take heavy burst damage before they’ve fully ramped themselves.
This produces dramatically higher total damage, but more importantly, far more rapid damage output, because the team avoids the slow buildup that used to define earlier seasons.
3. Comparing Energy Master to Psionic Tide and Corrosive Power
3.1 Psionic Tide
- Strong energy regeneration skill.
- Outclassed by Energy Master for primary carries. Energy Master (EM) provides double the energy refund. For Mages specifically, Psionic Tide does bring a strong damage buff with it affecting your Tower of Knowledge skills damage as well as your own by 15% stacking 3 times. But for ultimate-cycling, the 100% Energy skill damage buff from EM is superior as well.
- Note Psionic cannot be equipped together with Energy Master. If you are using Energy Master in your main or on a ranged-carry, Psionic can be substitute for a mage, but for mains EM is superior.

Energy Master simply drives ultimates harder and faster, and its damage window is substantially stronger.
3.2 Corrosive Power
- Excellent synergy skill.
- Adds ultimate damage and continuous energy gains on hit.
- Can be paired with Energy Master (or Psionic for that matter), which is currently one of the highest-performing carry combinations in the game.

For burst-centric carries, Energy Master + Corrosive Power defines the current gold-standard build.
Note: After the most recent nerf to Seondeok, her trigger effects on her ultimate no longer counts as ultimate damage, hence you cannot get the buffs and regen from e.g. an EM+Corrosive combination that you used to. That makes Corrosive Power near useless on her specifically, but Energy Master does still work well here.
4. Supporting Skills and Talents
4.1 Battle Excitation (Support Only)
Battle Excitation is exclusive to support immortals, and in the Energy Master meta it is mandatory. It significantly improves the opening of the fight by boosting initial energy, which allows your carry to reach the first ultimate more quickly. Without that acceleration, the Energy Master engine still works, but it loses much of its sharpness.

4.2 Rage Blessing on Tanks/Supports
Rage Blessing adds a probabilistic layer of additional energy regeneration. When its 3/4 chance lands on your carry—and it often does—it further tightens the cycle and compounds the value of Energy Master, especially in long fights. While this does NOT affect refuned energy from Energy Master (or other sources) it does provide synergy to the general concept of ultimate-cycling builds.

4.3 Owl Guardian Talents
Running an energy centric build, you should make sure to always be using the Owl Guardian Talents, providing a 5% buff to the passive energy regen of your immortals. While this does NOT affect refuned energy from Energy Master (or other sources) it does provide synergy to the general concept of ultimate-cycling builds.

5. Best Immortals for Energy Master
Any primary damage dealer that relies on ultimate damage burst hits performs extremely well with Energy Master. It is not limited to AoE casters; single-target burst or multi-hit patterns also scale beautifully.
5.1 Mages
- Himiko
Balanced, consistent, and extremely reliable. Energy Master elevates her damage curve and ensures fast casting cycles. - Baldwin
Higher theoretical output than Himiko but more RNG-dependent. With Energy Master, his peaks become devastating, though you still experience the occasional low-roll battle. - Merlin, Empress Wu, Hammurabi, others
Any mage built around strong ultimate bursts benefits greatly from Energy Master + regen builds.

5.2 Archers
- Genghis Khan
High crit synergy and excellent scaling with rapid ultimates. Strong Energy Master pairing. - Apollo
Absolutely not a niche pick—Apollo becomes a very strong primary carry with Energy Master. His kit aligns tightly with fast-cycling builds, making him one of the more promising long-term archer carries in Conquest.

6. Leveling Priority & Investment Advice
Energy Master does not require max level to outperform other skills.
However, instead of feeling powerful at level 2–4, the practical threshold where it begins clearly surpassing most alternatives is around level 5.

- Level 5: The energy refund becomes large enough to sustain a reliable cycle.
- Level 6–7: The higher the level the better, that being said, at the 6-7 range we are getting to levels that makes the skill unrivaled by anything else on many burst-immortals.
- Level 8?: Yes, you want to get this to level 8 if possible. That being said, due to the nature of how the required skill stones to upgrade each level increases, most players find it the most effective to end upgrading at level 7 and move on to the next legendary skill – then to return once you have the ones you need at their appropriate levels.
Upgrade costs to Chaos/Legendary Skills:
Unlock: 60
level 2: 5
level 3: 10
level 4: 15
level 5: 20
level 6: 30
level 7: 40
level 8: 60
Total 240
For players investing in Legendary skills, Energy Master is typically the best first choice for any account built around a backline carry.
Conclusion
Energy Master is not just a high-damage Legendary skill; it is the foundation of the current ultimate-cycling meta. When paired with a support that has Battle Excitation, and supported further by skills like Rage Blessing and Corrosive Power, it creates a fight rhythm defined by:
- extremely rapid ultimate frequency,
- compressed burst windows,
- and total damage outputs far beyond the older Season 2 meta.
Any backline carry built around ultimate burst gains exceptional value from it. Whether you’re running Himiko, Baldwin, Merlin, Wu, Khan, or Apollo, Energy Master transforms them from strong damage dealers into game-defining ones.
