Fully Prepared: The Rise of Momentum-Based Defense in Infinity Kingdom

Introduction – Momentum as a Front-Line Philosophy

Legendary passive skills in Infinity Kingdom usually force a choice between damage and survival. Fully Prepared breaks that pattern. It offers a unified design built around momentum: keep attacking, grow stronger, take less damage. No HP thresholds. No emergency triggers. Just steady pressure rewarded over time.

In a meta where we have in the past often seen conditional passives like Last Stand or Iron Curtain, Fully Prepared represents a philosophical shift. Instead of reacting to danger, it assumes control from the first strike. The skill asks one thing of the player and the immortal alike—maintain rhythm. As long as normal attacks continue, both offense and defense scale upward in tandem.

This is not something that requires you to maintain high troop counts to even work, nor does it assume you loose 30% of your troops before it even takes effect. Instead it is a commitment to tempo and to getting ahead fast and then staying ahead. And that pays off!


Skill Overview – How Fully Prepared Functions

Fully Prepared is a Legendary Passive Skill restricted to front-line positions.

Each normal attack grants two stacking effects:

  • Damage dealt increased by a fixed percentage per hit
  • Damage taken reduced by a fixed percentage per hit

These effects stack up to 10 times. At higher skill levels, the scaling becomes substantial.

At level 8, each stack provides:

  • +6% damage dealt
  • −5% damage taken

At full stacks, this results in:

  • +60% total damage
  • −50% total damage taken

The moment normal attacks stop, the momentum ends. Stacks do not persist through inactivity or control effects.

Fully Prepared cannot be equipped alongside Last Stand or Iron Curtain, as all three occupy the same defensive design space. Where those skills rely on conditional triggers, Fully Prepared replaces them with cumulative scaling tied directly to combat flow.


Damage Scaling – Power Earned Through Persistence

The offensive value of Fully Prepared is easy to underestimate at first glance. In practice, it competes directly with – and often outperforms – traditional damage passives.

At maximum level, Fully Prepared reaches +60% damage, matching Last Stand’s peak bonus. The difference lies in uptime.

Last Stand only activates once HP drops below a specific threshold. Fully Prepared begins scaling from the opening exchange. On fast-attacking front liners, full stacks are typically reached within the first 8-10 seconds of combat.

This creates a form of compounding pressure:

  • Early stacks accelerate mid-fight damage
  • Mid-fight damage shortens engagements
  • Shorter engagements reduce incoming risk

Rather than gambling on survival to unlock damage, Fully Prepared front-loads value and maintains it as long as attacks continue. In extended fights, that consistency translates into cleaner victories and fewer collapses.


Durability and Mitigation – Proactive, Not Reactive

The defensive side of Fully Prepared is where its design truly stands apart.

At full stacks, 50% damage reduction exceeds Iron Curtain’s maximum mitigation and does so without waiting for a trigger window or conditional triggers from e.g. troop counts. Protection builds quickly (especially on high speed normal attackers) as combat progresses.

This reframes the role of front-line immortals. Instead of functioning purely as damage sponges, they become damage regulators—reducing incoming pressure while actively accelerating the enemy’s defeat.

The tradeoff is clear and deliberate: momentum can be broken.

  • Stuns, knockbacks, or forced downtime interrupt stacking
  • Lost stacks mean lost mitigation
  • Recovery requires re-establishing attack rhythm

Because of this, Fully Prepared strongly favors builds that minimize interruption through control resistance, immunity, or sheer attack speed. When uninterrupted, the skill delivers some of the most stable frontline durability available.


Ideal Users and Synergies – Where Fully Prepared Excels

Fully Prepared shines on immortals who stay in contact and attack frequently. It is strongest on aggressive front lines designed for prolonged engagement rather than burst windows.

Recommended Immortals

  • Alexander – One of the most natural fits. His rapid attack chains allow stacks to build almost immediately, and his control immunity protects momentum. Perfect fit.
  • Ares – Blends aggression with his Frigthen utility, quick normal attacks, making full-stack uptime reliable in drawn-out fights (as of the coming patch 2.9.0 Ares will also have a baked in Control Immunity perfect for maintaining momentum and uptime).
  • Hannibal Barca – Slower to ramp but benefits heavily from long exchanges where stacks remain stable. Requires Fighting Master as to attain Control Immunity, since this takes up a skill slot he is significantly worse off than Ares (once patch 2.9.0 is live) and Alex where you are able to run both Wind Rage and Knife Through Butter, more on that below.

Skill Synergies

  • Wind Rage – The single most important pairing. This skill provides a huge increase to the number of normal attacks you land per second. Hence it significantly reduces stack buildup time.
  • Knife Through Butter – Complements the scaling damage by maintaining pressure throughout the fight and by also scaling off of normal attack, making it a perfect synergy with Wind Rage which we want to run with Fully Prepared.
  • Assembly Charge – Works well in aggressive dual-front setups that commit to sustained combat. Also scales off of normal attacks, hence works in synergy with the Wind Rage core. In my opinion, Assembly Charge is the skill to get if you do not have a Knife Through Butter level 6-8 available.

The perfect setup is in my opinion doing Wind Rage with Fully Prepared and Knife Through Butter – as shown below.


Obtaining Fully Prepared

Fully Prepared is a Legendary skill, meaning it is available only through the Wisdom Well event in Conquest and Legendary seasons. Being a legendary skill, you need additional skill stones to upgrade Fully Prepared – contrary to Epic skills which we are used to upgrading using Soul Crystals.

The cost to unlock is 60 skill stones, upgrading each level gets more and more expensive for a total of 240 stones required to reach level 8. Note that because level 7 to 8 costs a whopping 60 skill stones in itself, many players opt to stay at level 6 or 7 for a while and being upgrading other skills – then returning once you complete your legendary skill loadout. This is my recommendation as you progress into legendary skill setups as well.

Conclusion – The Backbone of Sustained Combat

Fully Prepared does not rescue failing positions. It amplifies strong ones.

When used correctly, it turns steady aggression into both offense and defense, scaling power through discipline rather than desperation. For players who value tempo, uptime, and sustained control, it stands as one of the most coherent and rewarding passive designs in the game.
