Infinity Kingdom’s next patch introduces one of the most disruptive Tower of Knowledge skills we’ve seen in years: Knife Through Butter. At first glance, its raw damage looks unremarkable — but its energy drain mechanic makes it potentially meta-breaking.

This skill doesn’t just punish the current hyper-regen meta — it may also bring back the long-forgotten Earth–Wind hybrid archetype, putting physical carries like Alexander the Great back in the spotlight.

🔎 What Knife Through Butter Does

Skill Details:

  • Type: Physical, Attack-triggered
  • Effect: Normal attacks have a 60% chance to remove 300 Energy from all enemy Immortals
  • Proc Chance: 60% per 6 normal attack, thus scaling with attack speed.
  • Target: All enemies simultaneously

🚩 Why It’s a Big Deal

1. Hard Counter to Hyper-Regen Meta

Right now, many Conquest battles revolve around regen-based comps — teams that chain ultimates endlessly through energy boosts. These teams thrive on casting before you can react.

Knife Through Butter flips that on its head:

  • Every proc robs the entire enemy team of 300 energy.
  • With high attack speed, enemies may never reach ultimate thresholds.
  • Result: Heals, shields, and CC chains collapse.

2. Revival and evolution of Hybrid Teams

For several seasons, hybrids (earth wind) have struggled in the regen backline-centered meta. With Knife Through Butter, hybrids finally have a disruptive tool that rewards their natural strengths:

  • High attack speed carries like Alexander, Hannibal when boosted by Zeno and Qin for attack speed can proc this constantly.

  • Proc Mechanics: With a 60% chance per 6 attacks attack, at 3 attacks per second, you average 1.8 procs per second (60% Ă— 3 = .9 procs).
  • Energy Drain Impact: At each proc, you drain 300 Energy from each enemy Immortal. Averaging .9 procs per second gives us approximately 270 Energy drained per second from each enemy Immortal—an absolutely staggering number.

The idea is simple yet effective:

  • DPS #1 shuts down enemy ultimates by continuous energy drain.
  • DPS #2 quickly bursts down priority targets who become vulnerable due to interrupted heals, controls and shields.

🎯 How It Fits Into Conquest Meta

Hybrid Resurgence

  • Earth–Wind hybrids with Alexander and Hannibal suddenly look dangerous again.
  • With Knife Through Butter, they can suppress backline enery regen based builds that otherwise ramping up damage.

More Attack-Speed Builds

  • Expect Wind Rage, Berserker, and other speed-enhancers to become mandatory.

Whale Must-Have

  • For spenders, this skill will likely be required for top Conquest matches.
  • Any team without energy control will risk being steamrolled by Knife Through Butter comps.

  • Teams that rely less on ultimate cycles (like raw crit Khan comps) will adapt faster.

⚡ Verdict: This is a very interesting skill and one that in the right build may be the most broken energy skill so far? Right now it looks strong but not broken, but I think that once whales figure out how to setup Alexander-Ares hybrids, we are going to see some new top builds and a new hybrid era… time will tell!
