While most players are not naturally building into Spearmen, the meta has quietly shifted in a way that favors him as more cavalry-centered builds—especially those revolving around Alexander—are becoming more common again, and spearmen naturally counter cavalry. If you prepare for Poseidon early in seasons or reach a point where your tech is broadly developed, he becomes one of the most threatening damage dealers available.
