Psionic Vortex

2026-10-01

Psionic Vortex is a new Legendary Chaos skill introduced to the Tower of Knowledge during Legendary Season. Its effect looks straightforward: lose HP or cast an Ultimate Skill, gain a stack and increase the carrier’s Magical Damage. However, the numbers become rather extreme once the skill is upgraded. At Level 8, every stack increases Magical Damage by 30%, with up to five stacks available. This gives Psionic Vortex a theoretical maximum of +150% Magical Damage, making it one of the largest personal damage amplifiers currently available in Infinity Kingdom. The important question is not whether Psionic Vortex can reach 150%, but how quickly it gets there and whether enough of the battle remains for the carrier to exploit the completed stacks.

💠TL;DR

Psionic Vortex increases the carrier’s Magical Damage whenever their HP decreases by 10% or an Ultimate Skill is cast. At Level 8, each stack grants 30% Magical Damage and the five-stack maximum reaches 150%.

Horus appears specifically designed to use it. His high Energy Regeneration helps him cast frequently, while Royal Sarcophagus prevents individual attacks from bursting him down before Psionic Vortex has time to scale. The likely high-end setup is Energy Mastery, Infinite Firepower and Psionic Vortex, creating a durable magical carry whose damage continues rising throughout the battle.

The skill is unlocked through the Legendary Season Wisdom Well using Wisdom Elixirs. It costs 300 Elixirs to unlock and 1,200 Elixirs to reach Level 8.

💠Psionic Vortex Skill Effect

Psionic Vortex is a passive Legendary Tower of Knowledge skill with the following effect:

When your HP decreases by 10% or an Ultimate Skill is cast, increase your Magical Damage by 9%, stacking up to five times.

The percentage increases by three points with each skill level, eventually reaching 30% per stack at Level 8. The current in-game card also displays a ranged-position restriction and recommends Horus and Cleopatra as potential carriers.

Unlike skills that increase only Ultimate Skill Damage, Psionic Vortex increases Magical Damage. This is much broader because it can strengthen the carrier’s magical output from their Ultimate as well as magical damage produced by their equipped Tower of Knowledge skills.

It begins the battle without any bonus, however. The carrier must actively generate stacks before receiving the full benefit.

💠Damage Scaling by Level

This progression is important when deciding whether Psionic Vortex must be completely maxed before it becomes useful. Even at Level 4, three stacks provide 54% Magical Damage and the completed effect reaches 90%. At Level 6, only two stacks are required to reach a 48% increase.

The skill therefore does not suddenly become useful at the fifth stack. Every stage of the buildup matters.

A useful comparison is Concentration, which provides a permanent 30% Magical Damage increase at Level 8. A maxed Psionic Vortex reaches the same bonus with its first stack, doubles it with the second and can eventually reach five times the amplification. Concentration remains more reliable at the opening of a battle, but Psionic Vortex has a vastly higher ceiling.

💠How Does Psionic Vortex Build Stacks?

Psionic Vortex has two separate triggering conditions:

  1. The carrier’s HP decreases by 10%.
  2. An Ultimate Skill is cast.

This gives the skill two possible sources of momentum. A fast-casting Immortal can generate stacks through Ultimate cycles, while an Immortal under pressure can build additional stacks through HP loss.

In practice, the two mechanics should work together. The carrier may lose 10% HP, gain a stack, cast an Ultimate for another stack and continue building from both conditions as the battle develops. This potentially allows Psionic Vortex to reach its maximum considerably faster than a skill relying exclusively on repeated Ultimate casts.

There are still some details that require proper battle testing. The English description says “an Ultimate Skill is cast” rather than explicitly stating “when you cast your Ultimate Skill.” Current analysis assumes that this refers to the equipped Immortal, but the wording leaves room for testing.

We also need to confirm exactly how the HP condition tracks damage. The most likely interpretation is that the skill counts cumulative reductions equal to 10% of maximum HP, but healing and repeated HP loss could affect how quickly those thresholds are reached. These interactions will be particularly important in sustain formations.

💠Why Horus Appears Designed for Psionic Vortex

Horus is the most obvious carrier and appears almost purpose-built for the skill.

His unusually high native Energy Regeneration, reportedly around 153, should allow him to reach his Ultimate quickly and continue casting regularly during longer battles. Every completed cycle contributes another Psionic Vortex stack while also applying his Magical Damage and Punishment effect.

The other half of the interaction comes from Royal Sarcophagus. Horus limits how much HP he can lose from an individual instance of damage, protecting him against the enormous burst attacks that have defined much of the recent meta.

Psionic Vortex wants its carrier to experience HP loss, but it also needs that carrier to survive. Horus can take repeated damage and build toward the HP trigger without being removed by one enormous hit. This gives him time to accumulate stacks through both damage received and Ultimate casts.

Once the effect is developed, Horus becomes an increasingly difficult problem. He is hard to burst, continues applying Punishment across the enemy formation and gains more Magical Damage as the fight progresses.

The most aggressive version of this build is likely:

  • Energy Mastery
  • Infinite Firepower
  • Psionic Vortex

Energy Mastery helps Horus reach his Ultimate more quickly, Infinite Firepower adds further scaling and Psionic Vortex rewards every additional cycle. In a sustain-heavy formation capable of protecting and healing him, this creates the possibility of an extremely durable magical carry whose damage continues climbing rather than declining during a long battle.

💠Other Potential Carriers

The in-game recommendations currently show Horus and Cleopatra. Cleopatra provides an accessible magical carrier and naturally benefits from any effect that increases her total Magical Damage, but the real question is how quickly she can generate stacks compared with Horus.

Medusa may be another extremely interesting candidate. Her Ultimate already possesses exceptional damage scaling, and Psionic Vortex could make later casts considerably stronger once the first stacks have been established. The main uncertainty is whether giving her Psionic Vortex produces more value than the established skill combinations supporting her current meta build.

Other ranged magical carries may also use the skill effectively, particularly if they combine strong Energy Regeneration with enough survivability to remain active throughout longer battles. However, Psionic Vortex should not automatically be placed on whichever Immortal has the highest Magical Attack. Stack generation and survival matter just as much as the carrier’s initial attributes.

An Immortal reaching four stacks consistently may use the skill better than a more explosive carrier who dies after reaching only one or two.

💠Skill and Formation Synergies

Psionic Vortex naturally works with three broader mechanics: energy generation, magical amplification and sustain.

Energy Mastery helps the carrier cast more frequently, potentially accelerating both stack generation and Ultimate damage. Infinite Firepower provides additional offensive scaling for builds designed around repeated Ultimate cycles, while Corrosive Power can contribute damage and improve pressure against the enemy formation.

Heart of Arcana, when carried elsewhere in the march, can provide another layer of Magical Damage amplification without occupying one of the Psionic Vortex carrier’s own skill slots.

Healing, shields and damage mitigation are equally important. Psionic Vortex benefits from HP loss, but losing HP only creates value if the carrier remains alive long enough to use the resulting stacks. Hyper-sustain formations may therefore be the best environment for the skill, especially when built around Horus.

💠The Limitations Behind the 150% Number

Psionic Vortex should not be described as a permanent 150% Magical Damage increase. That is its maximum potential after five successful triggers.

In a short battle, the carrier may reach only one or two stacks before the result has already been decided. In that situation, an immediate damage skill or an always-active effect may provide more practical value.

The fifth stack can also arrive too late. Reaching 150% Magical Damage during the final seconds of a battle is very different from reaching it while several Ultimate cycles remain.

There is also an opportunity cost. Psionic Vortex occupies one of only three Tower of Knowledge skill slots. Even if the skill produces an enormous personal damage increase, players must compare that output with alternative damage, control, energy or survival skills that could occupy the same position.

Horus is likely to reduce several of these weaknesses because he combines rapid Energy generation with exceptional anti-burst protection. For other Immortals, the ramp-up period may be much more noticeable.

💠How to Unlock Psionic Vortex

Psionic Vortex is a Legendary Season Chaos skill obtained through the Wisdom Well. Unlike Epic or Cinder Shop skills, its Ability Stones are purchased using Wisdom Elixirs.

Each Psionic Vortex Ability Stone costs 5 Wisdom Elixirs.

Unlocking the skill requires 60 stones:

60 stones × 5 Elixirs = 300 Wisdom Elixirs

Legendary skills have eight levels, with the following stone requirements:

Fully upgrading Psionic Vortex therefore requires:

240 stones × 5 Elixirs = 1,200 Wisdom Elixirs

Screenshot

The current Wisdom Well provides a 3% chance to receive 20 Wisdom Elixirs, with a guaranteed jackpot on the 40th Wish if one has not appeared earlier. There is also a 2% chance to receive 5 Elixirs. Under this system, unlocking one Legendary skill takes approximately 323 Wishes on average, while reaching Level 8 requires roughly 1,290 Wishes on average, although individual results will vary.

Players should therefore view Psionic Vortex as a major account investment rather than a skill picked up casually during one Wisdom Well rotation.

💠Is Psionic Vortex Worth Building?

For a developed Horus main march, Psionic Vortex looks like one of the most important skills to acquire. Horus directly addresses the skill’s greatest weakness by surviving long enough to build its stacks, while his high Energy Regeneration provides another reliable path toward the maximum.

For Medusa or other magical carries, the answer is more account-specific. The damage ceiling remains enormous, but players must consider battle duration, Energy cycles and which existing skill would have to be removed.

This is not necessarily a universal skill that belongs on every magical Immortal. It is a scaling carry skill, and its value depends on whether the formation can create enough time for that scaling to matter.

Players with limited Wisdom Elixirs should prioritise the skill only if it has a clear place in their main march. Unlocking Psionic Vortex simply because 150% looks impressive may leave you with an expensive Level 1 skill and no settled carrier. A completed Horus sustain build is a very different investment case from purchasing the skill speculatively for a secondary team.

💠Summary

Psionic Vortex is one of the most ambitious Magical Damage skills introduced to the Tower of Knowledge. At Level 8, it can progress from 30% to 150% increased Magical Damage as the carrier loses HP and casts Ultimate Skills.

Horus is the natural carrier because Royal Sarcophagus protects him from the burst damage that would normally threaten a scaling mage, while his high Energy Regeneration helps him build stacks through repeated Ultimate casts. Cleopatra is recommended by the game as another option, while Medusa and other ranged magical carries deserve further testing.

The skill’s ceiling is enormous, but its real performance will be determined by stack speed, battle length and survivability. If Horus can reach five stacks early and consistently, Psionic Vortex may become one of the defining Legendary skills of the new magical sustain meta.
