Introduction

The new Throne of Blood castle skin released during the May 2026 Hunting Festival is, in my opinion, one of the strongest all-around battle-pass skins Infinity Kingdom has introduced in quite a while.

The reason is not simply because it gives combat stats. Many skins do that. What makes Throne of Blood stand out is that it combines what is arguably the best combat attribute in the game with what I consider the best long-term development attribute.

That combination gives the skin immediate PvP relevance while also quietly accelerating account progression every single day.

To properly evaluate the skin, however, it helps to first understand how castle skin buffs actually work and why some stats scale dramatically better than others at high account progression.

Understanding Combat and Development Buffs

Castle skins in Infinity Kingdom generally provide two categories of bonuses:

Combat buffs themselves can further be divided into two subcategories:

This distinction matters because not all combat buffs scale equally well. Some buffs directly increase your actual combat power. Others instead improve efficiency, positioning, or troop preservation. And among all combat-power stats currently available on castle skins, troop attack is, in my opinion, the strongest overall.

Why Troop Attack Is So Strong

The key reason troop attack scales so aggressively is because of how damage is calculated in Infinity Kingdom.

An immortal has two sources of attributes that feeds into the damage equation:

  • Their own embedded immortal stats
  • The stats of the troops they command

At end-game troop counts, the troop portion of the equation massively outweighs the immortal portion.

For example, an immortal leading 18,000 troops gains far more total offensive scaling from troop attributes than from their personal immortal attributes alone.

That means:

  • 5% troop attack scales across the entire troop stack
  • 5% immortal attack only scales the immortal side

And those are not remotely equal in practice. This is why troop attack buffs consistently outperform immortal attack buffs during actual combat. Especially in late-game PvP environments with massive troop counts, troop attack scaling becomes extremely noticeable.

Why Technology Speed Is the Best Development Bonus

The second part of Throne of Blood is the 5% technology speed bonus.

At first glance, development stats rarely look exciting compared to direct combat buffs. But technology speed is different because of how account progression works in Infinity Kingdom.

Most active accounts eventually complete buildings and dragons but technology, however, is usually the final major progression bottleneck.

Research trees are enormous, expensive, and time-intensive. Even heavy spenders often remain behind on technology for a very long time. That is why I personally consider technology speed the best development bonus among castle skins.

And because the Throne of Blood skin combines that progression value with top-tier combat scaling, it avoids the usual problem where a skin is either:

  • Good for combat or
  • Good for development

This one does both.

Comparing Throne of Blood to Other Major Combat Skins

To understand where Throne of Blood fits in the current skin hierarchy, it helps to compare it against the other major combat skins currently worth considering.

This comparison highlights something important:

Troop Stats Are King

In practical combat performance:

  1. Troop Attack
  2. Troop Defense
  3. Troop HP
  4. Immortal stats

That is generally how I would rank them overall. Naturally, the ranking does depend on your troop count and your immortal attribute values. If you are behind on troop count (or low) and have incredible artifacts etc. you may well scale better off of immortal attack than troop HP for example. But in general troop attack and troop defense will always be the two best attribute buffs you can obtain.

Why Sun Chariot Is Secretly Interesting

One skin I personally value more than many players do is Sun Chariot.

On paper, the combat stat itself is not particularly impressive. Immortal defense scales noticeably worse than troop-based stats at higher account progression because troop attributes make up such a large portion of the actual combat equation once marches reach very high troop counts.

If you purely compare raw combat scaling, skins focused on troop attack, troop defense, or troop HP will usually outperform immortal defense skins quite clearly. Troop stats simply scale harder because they affect the much larger troop portion of the march rather than only the immortal side.

What makes Sun Chariot interesting is the movement speed bonus. March speed is one of those attributes that looks minor on a stat sheet but becomes extremely impactful during real PvP situations where positioning and timing decide fights.

The extra speed allows marches to move across the battlefield more efficiently, which creates tactical opportunities that direct combat stats cannot replicate. Faster movement means you can reinforce structures sooner, intercept enemy marches more reliably, reposition between objectives faster, and respond to map pressure before opponents can react properly.

Where the skin becomes especially strong is during active war scenarios involving fast attack-and-return timing. With additional movement speed, your main march can attack an enemy position and still return quickly enough to reinforce or garrison another objective immediately afterward. In practice, this often means you can pressure enemy targets while still maintaining defensive coverage elsewhere because your march simply covers distance faster.

That type of battlefield flexibility becomes extremely valuable during for example Legion of Frostborne, Norheim combat, etc. likewise it also means it is quite useless in e.g. arena or throne where there is no movement at all. Moreover, rallying you want to have the most powerful buffs over move speed. This is a niche one-on-one castle skin when you need to attack and defend using your main march at the same time.

Final Verdict

The new Throne of Blood castle skin succeeds because it combines the strongest combat scaling stat with the strongest long-term development stat.

Its:

  • 5% Troop Attack
  • 5% Technology Speed

…give it immediate PvP impact while also permanently accelerating one of the slowest progression systems in Infinity Kingdom.

The skin is especially strong for:

  • Competitive mid-game accounts
  • PvP-focused players
  • Active spenders
  • Players still progressing advanced research

And unlike many older skins, neither stat feels wasted. That is what ultimately makes Throne of Blood so impressive. Most skins force players to choose between combat and development. Throne of Blood is one of the rare cases where you genuinely get both.
