Wishing Well – is it worth it? Yes!

Hey there, fellow Infinity Kingdom player! Have you ever wondered whether it’s worth spending gems on the Wishing Well to boost your resources and speedups? You’re not alone—many players have asked me if dipping into the Wishing Well is a good idea or just a gem sink. In this guide, I’ll share what I’ve learned through my own testing, explain how it compares to buying resources directly from the in-game shop, and offer some personal opinions about who should (and shouldn’t) invest their gems in the Wishing Well.

Why Spend Gems on the Wishing Well?

The first thing to know is that resources can be earned for free in Infinity Kingdom, especially if you’re an active player participating in various events and collecting from resource spots on the map. That said, if you’re a free-to-play (F2P) player, you generally don’t need to worry about running out of resources because your build speed is naturally slower—you’re not constantly rushing building and tech upgrades with speedups.

However, if you’re a spender, you might find yourself hitting resource limits more often. After all, paying for speedups allows you to upgrade buildings, technologies, and craft artifacts much faster, which then requires a steady supply of resources. In healthy young servers—where there aren’t many abandoned high-level castles to farm—you might be tempted to buy resources directly from the Gem Shop. As I’ll explain, though, it’s far more cost-effective to use the Wishing Well instead.

Comparing Gem Costs: Wishing Well vs. Gem Shop

If you buy resources from the Gem Shop, you’ll only get about 555.5 resources per gem, and each hour of speedup will set you back 120 gems. That adds up quickly, making the Gem Shop an expensive way to maintain your resource needs.

By contrast, the Wishing Well offers both resources and speedups alongside the potential for “crit procs,” which give you even more resources than normal. On top of that, the Wishing Well has milestone rewards that drop additional resources and speedups after a certain number of “wishes.” These bonuses often include valuable universal speedups (like 8-hour speedups), which are worth a lot of gems if you were to buy them directly from the shop.

Note: You ALWAYS want to ensure you have the crit-talents equipped in one of your talent paged. Using this is mandatory before doing gem-wishes, and should in general be used before spending your daily wishes.

Results from Testing

In one of my tests, I used 50 gem-wishes at a total cost of 3,100 gems. Thanks to crit procs and milestone rewards, I ended up with 7.3 million resources directly:

from the wishes and 2 million more from the bonus chests. That’s 9.3 million resources total, plus 20 hours of speedups:

  • Resource Value: If you tried to get 9.3 million resources from the Gem Shop, you’d spend around 16,740 gems—which is more than five times higher than the 3,100 gems I spent in the Wishing Well.
  • Speedup Value: The 20 hours of speedups are easily worth an additional 2,400 gems if purchased from the shop.
  • Overall: I spent 3,100 gems for a total package worth about 19,140 gems in the shop!

These numbers might vary slightly depending on your Wish-Cap unlocks or if you forget to equip the Wish Crit talent before using your wishes. Still, the takeaway remains the same: the Wishing Well can provide resources and speedups at a fraction of the Gem Shop’s cost.

Who Should Use the Wishing Well?

  • Spenders: If you’re accelerating your progress with speedups and constantly run out of resources, the Wishing Well is a fantastic way to get more bang for your buck. You’ll end up with a surplus of resources and some handy speedups—all without breaking the bank (at least, not as much as the Gem Shop would).
  • Free-to-Play Players: If you rarely run low on resources because you aren’t rushing anything, then there’s little reason to use the Wishing Well for resources. You’re better off saving your gems for other important in-game purchases (like VIP points, limited-time bundles, or specific event-related items).

Summary

Ultimately, the Wishing Well is a gem-saving goldmine for players who need extra resources quickly. Compared to buying resources straight from the in-game Gem Shop, you can get substantially more for your gems and even pick up valuable speedups along the way. If you’re a spender who’s constantly running out of resources, I strongly recommend going the Wishing Well route. But if you’re free-to-play and don’t struggle with resource shortages, then hold onto those gems for other priorities. Either way, knowing the true value of the Wishing Well will help you make better decisions when it comes to your precious gems. Good luck, and may your wishes bring you all the resources you need!
