Fire Dragon – Ignatius
As players transition into the Conquest seasons of Infinity Kingdom, choosing the right dragon talent becomes essential. In this guide, we take a deep dive into one of the most popular elemental dragons: the Fire Dragon. With the Dragon Talent system unlocked, understanding how each skill tree impacts your team composition and combat strategy is more important than ever.
Let’s explore the three Fire Dragon skill trees, how they function in different setups, and which one may suit your march best.

π₯ Basics
All elemental dragons have a specific combat mechanic they synergize with. For fire, the third passive skill “Furinkazan” yields a damage buff every time your fire immortals recieve a buff. That means, that fire-build scale off of buffs like Oaken Guard, Blessings, etc. far better than any other element.

Note that the following are based on default value and the effect scale off of your upgrade level.
π₯ Prairie Fire β Explosive Power from the Dragon

The Prairie Fire skill tree is the go-to option if youβre looking to maximize raw dragon damage.
- Flaming Breath: Deals significant true damage (over 850,000) to all enemies and inflicts Burn, which adds over 340,000 damage every 6 seconds for 12 seconds.
- Intense Roar: Has a 90% chance to increase crit damage by 52% for 3 random allied units for 12 seconds.
This setup turns the Fire Dragon into a nuking beast, especially effective in shorter battles where ending the fight quickly is the goal. It’s perfect if you’re just starting to build a fire-based team and want high-impact damage early on.
β Best for: Short battles, dragon-focused compositions, burst teams.
π₯ Calamity β The Flexible Meta Pick

This is currently one of the most popular skill trees for the Fire Dragon, especially in mage-based lineups. If you’re using Empress Wu, Hippolyta, or any strong magic damage dealers, this is the recommended path.
- Flaming Breath (slightly different version): Still inflicts Burn and deals AoE damage, while reducing the physical damage dealt by enemies.
- Intense Roar: Boosts crit damage of the allied unit with the highest magical attack by 50% for 27 seconds β and it cannot be dispelled.
This setup synergizes exceptionally well with mage-based comps. Empress Wu, with her fast energy regen, is a perfect partner. The debuffs and crit boost provide strong sustained damage and combat control over longer fights.
β Best for: Mage teams, hybrid comps with Hippolyta or Himiko, flexible strategies.
π₯ Wildfire β Sustain Over Time
The Wildfire skill tree focuses on sustainability and drawn-out battles, offering a very different pacing than the other trees.
- Reduces Burn damage by 80% but shortens the damage interval and extends the burn to 33 seconds.
- Changes Intense Roar to boost Attack and Defense by 30 points (not percent) for 30 seconds.
While this sounds interesting, the long duration and flat attribute boost tend to be underwhelming when compared to the explosive power of Prairie Fire or the crit synergy of Calamity. Wildfire may suit high sustain teams or players wanting to experiment with extended fights, but itβs niche and not something I have seen work yet.
β οΈ Best for: Sustainable fire teams or niche stall-based strategies.
π Damage Comparison β Real Game Reports
Comparing Prairie Fire and Calamity side by side:
- In one battle test, a player using Prairie Fire had their dragon deal 9 million damage, significantly outpacing the Calamity dragonβs 5 million.
- However, the Calamity userβs Immortals (especially Empress Wu) dealt significantly more damage than those in the Prairie Fire team.
This proves the point: if you’re aiming for high dragon damage, Prairie Fire is ideal. If you’re optimizing your Immortal-based output, Calamity gives better synergy, especially in PvP.

π Fire Dragon Flexibility β Use Beyond Fire Teams
Interestingly, the Fire Dragon is not limited to pure fire marches:
- It works well with shadow marches transitioning into conquest.
- It fits in hybrid teams with Himiko or Wu + physical attacker combinations.
- Fire Dragon can replace Earth Dragon in some double tank setups for added offensive value.
π Example Comp: Wu + Hippolyta (Calamity) | Himiko + Hannibal (Wildfire) | Merlin-based comps
π§ Final Thoughts β Which Skill Should You Use?
- New players building fire teams β Start with Prairie Fire
- Mage-focused players (Wu, Merlin) β Go for Calamity
- Experimenters with sustain teams β Try Wildfire
If you’re stepping into Conquest and deciding which dragon to build first, you cannot go wrong with the Fire Dragon, especially with Calamity maxed out.
It provides flexibility, burst, and synergy across multiple Immortal typesβand while not as universally tanky as Earth or as support-heavy as Lightning, the Fire Dragon offers top-tier offensive potential.
Stay safe in the flames, and may your crits always land! π₯π
