Holy element in Preperation and season 1 (much different from later in the game)

Welcome to a new guide on Theia’s Roulette, an event that appears on preparation servers just before Season 1, coinciding with the release of Holy immortals. If you’ve been dominating early-game with Shadow—or seeing others do so—Theia’s Roulette might seem like the natural next step for those who want to jump straight into the power of Holy.

In this guide, I’ll walk you through how the event works in the early seasons, compare costs and spin efficiency, and share my opinion on whether it’s really worth investing heavily in Holy from the start.

Theia’s Roulette and the Arrival of Holy

When Holy immortals become available, whales on a new server typically scramble to switch from Shadow to Holy. Although Shadow can put up a fight, Holy is considered a hard counter to Shadow, thanks to the inherent damage reductions and damage buffs Holy immortals gain against Shadow.

On top of that, key Holy immortals like Theodora and Manco directly undermine the strengths of Shadow teams. For instance, Theodora can dispel continuous damage (a big part of Tutankhamun’s kit), while Manco provides control immunity for the Holy team.

The catch is that unlocking and maxing Holy immortals during preparation or early-season servers is extremely expensive. Although it’s possible to piece together a Holy lineup relatively quickly through Theia’s Roulette, you should know that those same Holy fragments will be available far more cheaply in late-game events. Whether you decide to spend big now or wait largely depends on how competitive you want to be right away.

How Theia’s Roulette Works

On new servers, Theia’s Roulette offers a chance to spin for Holy Immortal Fragments and Holy Dragon Fragments. Each spin costs 1,000 gems, or you can purchase special bundles for spin tickets. The main bundles in the in-game store range from $5 to $100. Notably, the $5, $10, and $20 bundles each give exactly 1 spin per dollar, which is the best rate. The $50 and $100 bundles offer more spins in total but at a slightly worse spin-per-dollar ratio.

Every spin has a 3% chance to drop x10 Immortal Fragments for your chosen Holy immortal, and an 8% chance to drop x100 Holy Dragon Fragments. While 100 dragon fragments may not seem like much, you’ll need a lot of them later, so picking them up early can still be worthwhile if you have the budget.

Bonus Bar and Spin Efficiency

Unlike older versions of the wheel—where you might get a guaranteed immortal after 25 spins—this new iteration has a “bonus bar” that rewards you with extra fragments at certain spin milestones (50, 100, 200, 350, 500, 700, and 900). The best value tiers are 50, 100, and 200 spins; 900 is also decent because it grants 60 bonus fragments at once. However, the mid-range tiers (350, 500, 700) have poor spin-per-fragment ratios.

Pricing estimates

For example, if you do 200 spins, you get about 60 Immortal Fragments in total: around 30 from the bonus bar plus an estimated 30 from the spins themselves. At that rate, you’d need roughly eleven or twelve events (each lasting three days) to collect enough fragments (1,020 total) to max a single Holy immortal. That’s a lengthy process, and if you’re willing to wait that long, you might as well hold off until Holy immortals become cheaper in later events.

Doing 900 spins per event means you buy 3x 5, 3x 10, 3×20, 3×50 you get just 240 spins in total for the event. Thus you are going to need the 99$ bundles adding up from there. You need 10x 100$ bundles to get a total of 940 spins at a cost of 1255$ which on average will yield you: 120 from the bonus bar plus 282 fragments from spin rewards, i.e. roughly 402 immortal fragments in total. Over three events you can thus max out one immortal and begin working on the next.

Assuming you want to speed it up (if not, just wait for later game events) you will be spending an average of 3184$ maxing a single holy immortal. That is quite expensive and the same price range as the original servers spent getting these. For comparison, know that holy fragments are actually available for free in the harbour in Conquest and at extremely cheap prices and for gems in Galaxy events later in the game.

If you then bank for 900 you come in a slightly higher total cost but FAR greater speed.

Combining In-Game Store and GTArcade

Using the Gtarcade store in addition to the in-game store: The above is assuming you are only using the in-game store. With Gtarcade you have access to spin tickets at: 6 tickets for 5$, 12 tickets for 10$, 22 tickets for 20$ and 48 tickets for 50$. These are all available with a 5 times weekly limit.

This changes the maths somewhat. These are all very efficient at 0.83$ to 1.04$ per ticket. Thus, buying out all five a week in all tiers, you only need 3.15 purchases of the inefficient in-game 100$ bundle in order to reach the 900 tickets you need for fast maxed holy immortals while still taking advantage of the bonus bar somewhat (3.15 means that you buy 4 the first event then not for the later ones while you have excess).

This means you spend a total of 955$ per event for the 402 fragments i.e. this takes you price to reach 1020 fragments down to: 2423$. A significant saving of 761$ per immortal you complete. Ultimately however, holy immortals quickly will be very expensive and you should consider if you can wait till later in the game.

Opinion: Spend Now or Wait?

In my view, there are two main reasons you’d want to dump resources into Theia’s Roulette during the prep or early seasons:

  1. You want immediate dominance. If you’re set on leading the server as a top whale, you’ll want Holy as soon as possible, regardless of cost.
  2. You have a long-term goal to max Holy eventually and don’t mind an early start. You might accept paying more now so you can have the advantage right away.

For everyone else—especially low to mid spenders—waiting is usually better. Once your server reaches Conquest, you’ll see Holy fragments in events like Galaxy and free sources like the Harbor, at a fraction of the early-game cost. If you aren’t determined to be the absolute top player during the first few seasons, patience will save you an enormous amount of money.

Ultimately, holy is obtainable going into season 1 and during season 1, but it is extremely expensive to get and is only something you should be doing if you want to be the absolute biggest whale during early game seasons. If you do not need to be that, wait till later to get your holy immortals online!

Summary
Theia’s Roulette brings Holy immortals to early-game servers, triggering a rush to assemble new lineups or counter unstoppable Shadow whales. While Holy is indeed powerful and counters Shadow effectively, unlocking and maxing your Holy team through Theia’s Roulette can be prohibitively expensive. For players who want immediate top-tier power, that might be a worthwhile price. However, if you’re more budget-conscious or simply willing to wait, you can acquire the same Holy fragments much more cheaply in late-game events. Keep an eye on your spending, explore bundle options both in-game and through GTArcade, and decide whether racing into Holy is worth the premium—or if you’d rather bide your time and transition more affordably later on. Good luck spinning, and may your Holy army shine bright when the time is right!
