Migration in Infinity Kingdom is a significant decision that can shape your experience in the game. Whether you’re looking for a more competitive environment, better allies, or just a fresh start, moving to a new server requires planning and preparation.
This guide will walk you through the essential aspects of migration, from obtaining portals to understanding server restrictions, and help you decide whether relocating is the right move for you.
Understanding Migration
What is Migration?
Migration allows players (Lords) to transfer their accounts from one server to another. This can be beneficial for finding a stronger alliance, joining friends, or escaping an inactive server. However, migration comes with costs, requirements, and risks.
Why Migrate?
- Stronger Competition: Some players prefer to migrate to more competitive servers to improve their skills and face greater challenges.
- Better Alliances: Your current alliance may be weak or inactive, prompting you to seek a more organized and active group.
- Server Wars and Strategy: Winning Legion of Frostborn wars can be easier on certain servers, depending on power balance and alliances.
- Reuniting with Friends: Many players migrate to join friends or follow their alliance.
Basics – the right portal
There are two versions of the Portal item, the purple version only works for players of low level. What you need it the Epic version and you need quite a few depending on your Power. More on that later. For now, just know that you are looking for this!
How to Migrate
1. Understanding Portal Requirements
Portals are required to migrate, and the number you need depends on your maximum achieved Lord power. Your current power doesn’t matter—what matters is the highest power you have ever reached.

If your power is close to the next portal threshold, consider:
- Removing Dragons from Marches: Dragons increase power but aren’t necessary for farming.
- Using Low-Level Immortals for Farming: Keep different elements to avoid extra power boosts.
- Avoiding Upgrades Before Migration: Holding off on major upgrades can keep your power lower before moving.
OBS: Migration Power Limits AND the number of Portals you need to migrate is ONLY based on your Maximum Historical Power. As such, you cannot remove dragons to drop below a threshold once you surpassed it. You can however, reduce your power in order to keep growing while you collect portals without reaching the next threshold.
Important: If you increase your power beyond a threshold, your portal cost will also increase. Plan ahead!
2. Acquiring Portals
There are several ways to obtain portals:
Free-to-Play Methods
Alliance Coin Shop:
- Portals cost 20,000 alliance coins each.
- Coins can be earned by:
- Constructing alliance cities.
- Donating to alliance technology.
- Donating to alliance-occupied cities in Legion of Frostborn.
Mini-Events:
- Occasionally, the game provides portals through events and login rewards.
Paid Methods
- Special Bundles: Available in the shop for real money.
- Weekly Portal Bundles: Post-Legion of Frostborne seasons often feature double-value Portal bundles, providing an opportune moment for spenders to stock up on Portals at a more economical rate. Prices range from $5 to $100, with the number of Portals increasing with the bundle’s value:
- $5 pack – 1 portal
- $10 pack- 2 portals
- $20 pack – 3 portals
- $50 pack – 4 portals
- $100 pack – 5 portals
Golden Path – huge value for your money
For just 50 Merit Coins you collect a portal with a seasonal cap of 10. I would recommend anyone to collect all 10 until you have a bank – just in case you want to migrate later. There are not many things worse than playing in a server you do not want to be in.
3. Checking Server Restrictions
You have decided to migrate, you are on your way to collect portals or maybe you already finished collecting and are ready to find a new home – but you can’t get in? There are limitations to migration that you must understand.
Each server has different migration conditions depending on the season and leadership:
- Season 1: Lower power cap for migration.
- Season 2: Increased power cap and improved rewards.
- Season 3+: Free migration between non-war servers.
- Conquest Season: No return to previous seasons, only migration within conquest servers.
- Power Limits: Some servers restrict migration based on Lord power; you may need approval from leadership.
Server Migration Conditions which restrict migration coming into a server is set by the King of the server, i.e. the player who has been crowned King by the winning Alliance during the most recent Contention of Relics.
5. Planning and Coordination
- Start Saving Early: Gathering portals can take months, so plan ahead.
- Scout Your Target Server: Create a small account to check activity and leadership.
- Communicate with the Server Leadership: Ensure they will accept you and your alliance.
- Ensure Your Team is Ready: Migration is easier with a strong, coordinated group.
