Infinity Kingdom: Deep Dive into the Costs of Maxing the Legendary Hunter Event

The Hunting Festival 2024 brings us the Legendary Hunter event, where players can hunt beasts using two types of arrows: free arrows and gem-arrows. Gem-arrows cost 100 gems each and deal 50 points of damage, with a 25% chance to critically hit for an additional 50 damage.

In this guide, we will explore the costs associated with maxing out the Legendary Hunter event using only gem-arrows. This will give you a clear understanding of the maximum price tag for obtaining the amazing artifact rewards offered in the event.

Damage Calculation for Gem-Arrows

Each gem-arrow deals an average of 62.5 damage:

Base damage: 50 points
Critical hit chance: 25%
Critical hit damage: 50 additional points

Average damage calculation: Average Damage=50+(0.25×50)=62.5

Total Damage Required

The total damage required to kill all beasts in the Legendary Hunter event is 30,780 points.

Assuming the beasts had a shared health pool, you need to achieve this damage output to max out the event. Bare in mind, that you WILL overcap on damage on multiple levels even when being careful and using Free to Play arrows to finish off the beasts.

Number of Gem-Arrows Needed

To calculate the number of gem-arrows required: Number of Gem-Arrows = 30,780 points / 62.5 points per arrow ≈ 493 Number of Gem-Arrows.

This is up quite significantly from last year. Last year, we had the HP of levels 17-40 being capped out at 550 HP. This year, that cap has been removed which means that where we had a total of 17,000 HP to shoot through in 2023 we need to get through a massive 30,800 HP in 2024! A huge increase in HP which is why the total arrow count needed this year is a whopping 493 gem-arrows up from just 272 last year.

Total Gem Cost

Each gem-arrow costs 100 gems. Therefore, the total cost to max out the event using gem-arrows is:
Total Cost = 493 gem-arrows ×100 gems per arrow = 49,300 gems.

Additionally, you need to spend 3,500 gems to unlock the gem reward tier.

Total gem cost to max out the event: 49,300 gems + 3,500 gems = 52,800 gems.

Consideration of Free-to-Play Arrows

While the above calculation is based on using only gem-arrows, it’s important to note that free-to-play arrows are also available. These can be obtained by killing gnomes and participating in other event activities. However, it is unlikely that you will be able to max out the event using only free arrows.

For comparison, last year’s Hunting Festival had a total of 17,000 HP, nearly half of this year’s event, and players still couldn’t complete it for free. Therefore, you should expect to spend at least 30,000-40,000 gems to complete this year’s event, even with the use of free-to-play arrows.

Given the high cost, it is essential to consider whether the rewards are worth the expenditure.
