Baldwin Fire as your third march
This guide is part of my article series on fire builds. If this build is not to your likeing, have a look at the rest of my builds on the lightning build page. I have multiple builds for any taste available, IB, PvE, arena/ToS builds and F2P/cheap builds.
This article is on fire as a third march. Why did I choose fire for my very first guide on building a third team you might ask? Because fire is a strong element viable as mains and very powerful as seconds and third!
IMPORTANT: This build is very strong as a second / third if you do not rely on chase for your main. If you like me are running a 100% physical damage main march = then this is the second march you been looking for! All those strong magic passives in perfect harmony with secondary buff-passives.
Fire has the bonuses of being:
(1) Free to play (even at endgame!)
(2) Dragon breath has very high damage, meaning you will ALWAYS make a big dent in your opponent – even if your march itself is rubbish
(3) Fire dragon boost fire Immortal damage based on buffs, which means all of those blessings and boons we are not using in our main and even in our seconds synergize perfectly with the fire dragon.
This build perform well versus shadow as long as your Wu dosen’t get hit my the shadow dragons attacks. However, it looses big time to holy! It also has a hard time nuking through proper earth setups, but is otherwise a very good and solid build.
Setup
In a second/third march, you don’t have very many juicy passives left to choose from. Moreover, not everyones main builds are going to be the same, so small deviations may occur. What we can say for sure is that you will never have BiS passives such as Weakness, Malice, Death Breath, Assist, etc. left for a third march.
In this guide I will show you a very well crafted build when you rely on earth-khan or earth-bath as your main march. This means I have all the BiS magic passives to spare for a perfect second team. If you are running something else second that also rely on magic damage, you should look towards additional blessings buffs and take Root passive (perform very well). But do make sure you can buff your Wu with chase, a proc and flame protection, a second proc or concentration.
This build rely Baldwin debuffing your enemies making them take 30% more magic damage. With super high crit on Wu and/or multiple chase proc abilities = you will melt your opponent fast!
You want to run this passive loadout:
Empress Wu: Chase + Nova + Flame Protection
Baldwin: Anihilation + Concentration + Nova
William: Fighting Will + Defense Blessing + Blessing of Rage
Hippolyta: Burst + Blessing of war + Resist
What if I don’t have all of these free? If you are e.g. running Fighting will in your main or second, or relying on a nova for chase procs on your main. You might not have these available. Try and aim at something similar, but you can always swap in these as strong alternatives for this setup:
- Speed Blessing
- Oaken Guard
- Root
- Silence
- Fighting Master
