Basic Earth Build – How to Build Earth from Preparation into Seasons

Hey everyone! Today, we’re diving into Earth teams, one of the most durable and well-rounded builds in Infinity Kingdom. While Earth teams are often known for their tankiness, there’s a lot more depth to them. Earth is a powerhouse because it blends high single-target damage from Alexander, AoE damage from Cleopatra (and later Himiko or Bathory), sustain from the Earth Dragon’s damage reduction, Zenobia’s healing, and Charles’ insane shielding. On top of all that, the Earth Dragon brings some serious control with its stuns.

Stunning isn’t just about stopping an opponent for a moment; it can actually interrupt skill casts. When an immortal reaches max Energy, they start casting their ultimate. Their Energy gets drained at the start, and there’s a brief cast time before the ability activates. If you land a stun during this window, the cast is canceled, and they lose their Energy. This is why Earth is so strong—its consistent stuns (especially with Bathory added later) give you a solid chance to interrupt key ultimates.

Now, let’s get into the details of how to build Earth, from early preparation all the way into late-game seasons.

Is Earth Right for You?

Before we get too deep, let me be clear: Earth is NOT a Free-to-Play (F2P) friendly build. If you’re not willing to spend at least a little (to get Charles, who is pretty cheap these days), you should consider Earth-Wind Hybrid, Lightning, or Fire instead. If you’re set on Earth, though, let’s break it down step by step.

Earth Team Progression

1. Preparation Phase (First Weeks of the Server)

Your priority is to get these four immortals as fast as possible:

  • Zenobia (Healer)
  • Cleopatra (AoE Mage)
  • Alexander (Frontline DPS)
  • Charles (Tank, Shields)

This gives you a well-rounded team with sustain, damage, and control. During preparation, Earth is very common, and troop stats are still low, making burst damage extremely strong. Because of this, adding Genghis Khan as a temporary replacement for Cleopatra can be devastating due to his high burst and Wounds effect (which reduces healing).

2. Early Game Build Choices

  • If you want to dominate early wars: Use Khan-Zenobia-Alex-Charles.
  • If you’re a spender: You can get Bathory early through the VIP shop and Marketplace and use Cleo-Bathory-Alex-Charles.
  • If you’re following meta trends: Stick with Zenobia-Cleo-Alex-Charles, then swap Cleo for Himiko once available.

Bathory works well until Castle 39 (C39) when you unlock Assist, making her even stronger. However, as Shadow immortals become available (~3-4 weeks in via Theia’s Roulette), Himiko becomes the best Earth AoE option.

3. Mid-Game (Around 3-4 Weeks In)

Once Himiko is available, the strongest Earth team becomes:

  • Himiko (AoE Mage, Control)
  • Zenobia (Healer, Sustain)
  • Alexander (Frontline DPS, Lifesteal)
  • Charles (Tank, Shields)

This is one of the best Earth builds, viable all the way through Conquest. It provides:

  • Excellent sustain (Zenobia + Charles)
  • High AoE and burst damage (Himiko + Alex)
  • Reliable CC and interrupts (Earth Dragon + Himiko)

If you still want to use Bathory instead of Himiko, Cleo-Bathory-Alex-Charles remains solid and Theodora-Bathory-Alex-Charles becomes incredibly powerful. In fact, if you build it right (by baiting Himiko’s control onto Zenobia), it counters Himiko teams.

4. Late Game (After Conquest Starts)

Once Executioner and Blade Vortex skills become available, Bathory makes a comeback. Her synergy with late-game skills is very strong, making her a viable swap-in over Himiko for certain matchups.

Best Skills for an Earth Team

A common mistake players make is wasting Purple Crystals on skills that won’t be used in the long term. Here’s a safe skill progression path to follow:

Zenobia (Sustain & Defense)

  • Early: Berserk, Resist, Oaken Guard
  • Late: Energy Shield, Spring of Life (for better sustain)

Cleopatra/Himiko (AoE Damage)

  • Early: Concentration, Toxic Nova, Chase or Fire Nova (depends on crit rate)
  • Late: Drop a Nova for Dragon’s Breath (DB) and the other for Annihilation

Alexander (DPS & Lifesteal)

  • Early: Cleave, Combo, Duel Master
  • Late: Keep Cleave/Combo, but upgrade as new KvK and Triss skills become available

Charles (Tank & Shielding)

  • Early: Adrenaline Rush, Fighting Master, Malice
  • Late: Swap Malice for No Escape and Weakening Curse (for late-game debuff control)

Final Thoughts

Earth is an amazing all-rounder build, with sustain, damage, control, and durability. It performs well in all phases of the game but requires some investment to truly shine.

Summary Progression Path:

  1. Start with Zenobia, Cleopatra, Alexander, and Charles.
  2. Use Khan early (optional) for burst-heavy fights.
  3. Swap Cleopatra for Himiko once Theia’s Roulette unlocks her.
  4. Stick with Himiko-Zeno-Alex-Charles as your core build.
  5. Consider Bathory later for a late-game switch.
  6. Follow the skill progression path to avoid wasting Purple Crystals.

By following this guide, you’ll be able to maximize your Earth team’s potential and stay competitive across all seasons. Adapt your build based on your server’s meta and your playstyle, and you’ll dominate battles in no time!

Good luck, and see you on the battlefield! 🚀
