Unveiling the Artifact: Skill Mechanics
At the core of the Code of Yuan lies a skill mechanic that promises to redefine Khubilai Khan’s prowess in combat. Distinctive to this artifact and unique to Khubilai Khan himself, the skill activates each time his ultimate ability, Total Conquest, inflicts damage. With a remarkable 75% chance, the Code of Yuan empowers the target to endure additional damage.
This mechanic introduces a new layer of strategic possibilities, allowing Khubilai Khan to inflict multiple instances of damage on a single target. The genius of the Code of Yuan lies in its enhancement of Khubilai Khan’s Total Conquest ability. This ultimate ability, already a formidable force, now carries the potential to unleash an even more devastating blow. The additional damage mechanic, triggered by the skill’s activation, amplifies the precision and impact of Khubilai Khan’s attacks, providing him with a newfound advantage in battles. Because the ultimate ability Total Conquest as a default deals damage a total of 5 times, the damage increase is an almost sure proc.

Theoretical Potential and the Quest for Precision
On the theoretical front, the Code of Yuan hints at a significant boost to Khubilai Khan’s damage output. This enhancement, in theory, makes a compelling case for a more potent presence on the battlefield. However, the quantifiable extent of this augmentation remains a subject of exploration, necessitating empirical tests to truly ascertain its tangible effects.
Putting Theory to the Test
In the pursuit of understanding the Code of Yuan’s practical implications, rigorous testing has been undertaken. The tests were designed to unravel the artifact’s impact within a controlled environment, minimizing extraneous variables that could skew results.
Boss battles emerged as the litmus test for the Code of Yuan’s potency. As such I engaged in a series of level 18 boss encounters.
(1) Using a Normal Epic artifact with strong physical attack roll and Surge bonus
This artifact is a very powerful one, having rolled near perfect attributes and the Surge bonus. Both of these stat values are amongst the absolute best and most critical for the damage output of Khubilai Khan.
(2) Using a “Code of Yuan” unique artifact with TERRIBLE rolls, no physical attributes and no bonus
This unique artifact contrary to the above, has terrible rolls with no damage impact at all besides the unique effect itself. As such the test we are going to be conducting here will determine if the unique artifact effect all by itself can carry it’s own and make up for the massive damage attribute loss.
Firtly, our Khubilai Khan will be equiped with our powerful normal artifact gaining huge attack and damage-boosting attributes.
Subsequent trials saw Khubilai Khan wielding the Code of Yuan—a unique artifact devoid of attack-boosting attributes and bonuses. The anticipation was a drop in damage output due to the stark disparity in attributes.
Results: Surprising Outcomes and Future Prospects
Counter to expectations, the test results unveiled a fascinating trend. Despite the massive reduction in attributes like physical attack and energy regeneration with the Code of Yuan, the damage output and overall DPS of Khubilai Khan surprisingly increased during boss encounters. Despite having 25% lower physical attack and 17% less energy regen, our UA-Khubilai Khan wielding Code of Yuan was able to deal 11% more damage! Very surprising and a huge find to me.
Counter to expectations, the test results have revealed a compelling narrative that sheds light on the formidable prowess of the Code of Yuan. Our UA-Khubilai Khan, brandishing the Code of Yuan, demonstrated an astonishing 11% increase in damage output during boss encounters. This discovery stands as a resounding testament to the potency of this unique artifact, compellingly underscoring its ability to amplify Khubilai Khan’s impact on the battlefield. This revelation ignites anticipation, kindling eagerness to craft more Codes of Yuan and to envision the potential of a physical main role and a surge bonus on a Unique Artifact. The Code of Yuan’s transformative effect on damage output signifies a significant stride forward in strategic evolution, setting the stage for an exciting era of calculated experimentation and optimized combat mastery.
