Hey there, fellow Lords! Exciting news in Infinity Kingdom—our Lightning roster just got a serious upgrade with the introduction of Cao Cao, a brand-new Lightning Immortal. This guy isn’t just any support unit; he brings something totally new to the table—healing and sustain! If you’ve been struggling with Lightning’s lack of sustain outside of Tokugawa’s shielding, then buckle up because Cao Cao might just be the answer to our prayers.

Cao Cao’s Abilities

Cao Cao is a backline support Immortal with a unique healing mechanic that sets him apart. Let’s break down his ultimate ability:

Ultimate Ability: Sustained Recovery & Enemy Damage Reduction

  • Reduces the damage dealt by all enemies by 20%
  • When your frontline gets hit by normal attacks, they recover HP (Recovery Rate: 170%)
  • Effects are lasting 6 seconds

This is huge. Let’s analyze the key points:

  1. Healing in a Lightning Team – Unlike other healing abilities, this one is directly tied to normal attacks received by your frontline. That means no healing from ultimate abilities or Tower of Knowledge passive damage, but it rewards tanky frontline setups.
  2. Comparing to Shelter – The Shelter passive recovers 40% HP on hit with a 50% activation chance on all damage types. Cao Cao’s 170% over 6 seconds means that his healing could be even stronger in prolonged fights, particularly against normal attack-heavy teams.
  3. Anti-Hybrid Potential – This is where Cao Cao really shines. Hybrid teams, especially those relying on high attack speed, deal massive normal attack damage. Cao Cao’s healing thrives in those conditions, making him a prime candidate for countering Hybrid comps.
  4. Debuff synergy – Because of the way the lightning dragons passive work, you will gain a damage buff on your march whenever a new debuff is applied to the enemy. Adding Cao Cao will ensure a consistent damage dealt debuff and in turn boost your own damage output through the dragon passive.
  5. Providing PvE sustain – Lightning relies on damage to end battles fast and a Tokugawa shield to provide protect against troop losses while completing PvE activities. Adding Cao Cao I expect lightning to have a better time in large scale PvE grinds with the consistent sustain effect.

Synergies & Team Combinations

Since Lightning already has powerful Hybrid counters like Cid, adding Cao Cao into the mix opens up some serious team-building opportunities. Here are some potential team comps to consider:

Khan/Hammurabi – Cao Cao – Cid – Tokugawa/Khubilai/Peter/Louis

  • Why it works: Khan’s raw damage and energy regeneration work well alongside Cid’s devastating thorns effect. Synergizing well with Cao Caos normal attack skill. Cao Cao is keeping the frontline alive longer, this setup could be a path to making lightning viable as a Hybrid killer.
  • Who to add as the 4th? Possible options include **Peter **(extra damage), Tokugawa (shielding), or a Khubilaikhan for physical damage debuffs and as a second damage dealer for pressure.

These are just initial thoughts, but as more players max out Cao Cao, I expect to see some incredible new strategies emerge.

How to Obtain Cao Cao

Right now, the only way to get Cao Cao is through the 4th Anniversary Event by spending Token of Lights. However, based on previous Immortal releases, we can expect him to be available in future events.

    • Random Lightning Immortal Fragments
    • Lucky Spin Event (after the Anniversary Event ends)
