Dominate (2.8.1)

Dominate Skill Guide – Tower of Knowledge (Patch 2.8.1 Update)

With patch 2.8.1, Infinity Kingdom introduced Dominate, a new physical damage-focused Tower of Knowledge skill that increases an Immortal’s physical attack attribute by a flat amount.

Much like its magic-based counterpart Ignite, Dominate opens up a new path to power for early-game players, secondary teams, and physical damage dealers with lower base stats. But with the presence of other core physical skills like Onslaught, Anger, and Duel Master, how does Dominate really hold up?

Let’s break it down and see where it fits in your build strategy.

What Does Dominate Do?

Dominate (Level 1)
➤ Increases an Immortal’s physical attack by 1800 (flat value)

This passive provides a consistent stat boost to physical attack and is meant for physical damage dealers—especially those who haven’t yet reached high enough base stats to fully benefit from percentage-based buffs.

Dominate vs. Onslaught – Which Should You Use?

🔍 Key Comparison:

  • Onslaught: Increases physical attack by up to 60%
  • Dominate: Adds flat 1800 physical attack

💡 When does Onslaught become better?
To match or beat Dominate’s 1800 boost:

3000 physical attack × 60% = 1800

So, if your Immortal has less than 3000 physical attack, Dominate is the stronger skill. Once they cross that threshold, Onslaught will scale better.

Example Case:

  • Early Game Alex (Level 32): Might have only 1600–2200 physical attack Onslaught = ~960–1320 bonus
    Dominate = Flat 1800 boost
    Dominate wins easily
  • Late Game Alex (Fully built with Unique Artifact): Has 4000+ physical attack Onslaught = 4000 × 60% = 2400
    Onslaught becomes superior

What About Anger and Duel Master?

Here’s where Dominate gets more interesting.

🔥 Anger

+30% physical damage (not attack attribute)
This is an output multiplier, like Concentration for magic builds. It stacks with Onslaught or Dominate and is usually one of the best physical DPS boosts you can get.

🛡️ Duel Master

+50% physical attack, plus Wound Immunity
This skill provides both a substantial boost AND utility (anti-Wounds), making it a must-have for frontliners like Alexander, Attila, or Peter in PvP.

💡 Dominate stacks with Duel Master!

  • Duel Master boosts by 50%
  • Dominate adds a flat 1800
  • Combined, they create a powerful scaling effect, especially in early game

When Should You Use Dominate?

Ideal Use Cases:

  • Low to mid-level physical Immortals
  • Secondary teams where Onslaught/Anger are needed on your main squad
  • Budget builds where flat stats have more immediate value
  • Frontliners with Duel Master – for bonus synergy and early survivability

💡 Example Loadout for Beginners:

Alexander (no Unique)Duel Master + Combo + Dominate
✔ High uptime on ultimate
✔ Wounds immunity
✔ Flat damage boost

Meanwhile, you can equip Anger on your Hannibal with Cleave, or save Onslaught for a higher-stat Immortal.

Summary – Final Thoughts on Dominate

Dominate fits into the Tower of Knowledge skill lineup as a progression skill. It’s not here to replace Onslaught or Anger in the long term, but it plays an important transitional role, especially for:

  • Developing accounts
  • Early PvP compositions
  • Secondary/third marches

🔥 Verdict:

“Dominate is a great stepping stone skill for physical teams. It shines in early game and works well when paired with Duel Master. As your base stats grow, you’ll want to eventually graduate to Onslaught and Anger—but Dominate absolutely has a place in your arsenal.”
