Tower of Knowledge tier list for level 0-20

Welcome, fellow Infinity Kingdom players! This guide focuses on Tower of Knowledge (ToK) skills from levels 0 to 20. During the early preparation stage, it’s easy to overspend purple crystals on skills that you’ll later need to replace. Rebirthing skills costs you 20% of the original crystal investment, so it’s crucial to choose wisely and avoid wasting precious resources. I’ll share which skills I recommend upgrading, which to skip, and how to keep your builds efficient while still enjoying a power boost in these early levels.

Why Skill Selection Matters at Levels 0–20

In the very first stages of the game, you need to strike a balance between grabbing skills that offer immediate benefits versus saving your purple crystals for high-tier skills you’ll unlock later.

Many of the skills available at these lower levels either:

  1. Remain decently strong throughout the early game (and can later be moved to a secondary team).
  2. Provide short-term power but will eventually require rebirthing (and thus waste crystals).

You want to avoid the second scenario whenever possible. Let’s take a closer look at the major skill unlocks at levels 1, 5, 10, 15, and 20.

Level 1: Onslaught and Wisdom

Right from the start, you gain access to Onslaught (green) and Wisdom (green). Both are extremely cheap to acquire and upgrade:

  • Onslaught boosts your physical damage output, making it ideal for early-game physical attackers such as Alexander.
  • Wisdom boosts magic damage, benefiting your magic-based Immortals. If you use Medb (powerful early immortal) Wisdom is quite strong.

They’re not as strong as higher-level skills like Anger (lvl 27) or Concentration (lvl 24), but they still pack enough punch to remain useful well into mid-game. Once you outgrow them on your main march, you can always move them to your second or third team, ensuring you haven’t wasted your crystals.

Level 5: Hold Fast, Fortify, and Thump

At level 5, three more skills appear: Hold Fast (green), Fortify (green), and Thump (green).

  • Hold Fast provides a physical defense buff, which can help your frontline survive longer, especially early on. Normal attack damage is significant in the first stages of the game, so a cheap defensive buff can go a long way. You can move it to a backup team or rebirth it later if you no longer need it.
  • Fortify and Thump are generally less appealing. They don’t offer enough impact to justify spending purple crystals, so it’s best to skip these if you can.

Level 10: Meteor and Instigation

Upon reaching level 10, you unlock Meteor (blue) and Instigation (blue).

  • Meteor can be useful for dealing extra magic damage against bosses if you’re using a magic-based Immortal. Outside of that niche, it’s not particularly impressive, so most players can skip it.
  • Instigation was once considered powerful for control-focused teams, but the pace of the game has accelerated, reducing its effectiveness. It’s not a terrible choice if you really want extra control, but it’s generally not worth investing a lot of crystals.

Level 15: Support, Grace, and Silence

Level 15 adds Support (blue), Grace (blue), and Silence (blue) to your options.

  • Support and Grace offer healing or regen capabilities, often popular in Earth-based teams. However, with Wounds becoming more common in the current meta, these skills lose much of their effectiveness. They can still be useful for PvE, but unless you have a specific plan, it’s safer to save your crystals for better skills.
  • Silence stands out as a powerful option because it prevents enemies from regaining energy, effectively shutting down their ultimates. It also deals decent damage. This is one of the best early mid-tier control skills you can pick up, and it can remain relevant on your secondary teams even after you unlock higher-level skills.

Level 20: Stray Arrow and Combo

Finally, at level 20, you gain Stray Arrow (blue) and Combo (blue).

  • Stray Arrow focuses on single-target physical damage at a 55% trigger chance. It can be handy if you need more boss damage, but it’s still on the weaker side in most PvP scenarios. If your purple crystals are in short supply, this skill is usually best skipped.
  • Combo is an excellent pick for any frontline fighter who relies on normal attacks (like Alexander or Hannibal Barca in Earth, Wind, or hybrid lineups). It scales well and remains competitive for a long time. Even after you move your main march to stronger ToK skills, Combo can find a new home on a secondary lineup.

Personal Recommendations and Opinions

You’ll unlock higher-level (and generally more potent) skills pretty quickly in today’s fast-paced environment. Therefore, investing heavily in weaker or situational early skills can cost you crystals later. Here’s a general tier list for levels 0–20 based on overall usefulness and longevity:

  • S-Tier: Silence, Combo, Onslaught
These are the most valuable to acquire and upgrade, and they can remain useful even into the mid-game.
  • A-Tier: Wisdom, Hold Fast
Solid picks if you need a cheap magic buff (Wisdom) or defensive support (Hold Fast). They’re easy to rebirth or move to secondary lineups.
  • B-Tier: Instigation
Situational but can be used in a hyper-control setup. Otherwise, you can skip it.
  • C-Tier: Meteor, Stray Arrow
Useful in niche scenarios (boss damage), but mostly overshadowed by better options.
  • F-Tier: Grace, Support, Fortify, Thump
These have minimal utility, and you’ll likely regret spending crystals on them once you progress further.

Your main goal is to avoid pouring resources into skills that will quickly become obsolete. Focus on those with lasting impact, and you’ll have a smoother path when transitioning to higher-level skills that truly define endgame strategies.

Summary

Navigating the early levels of the Tower of Knowledge (0–20) can be tricky. You need enough power to compete in Preparation servers without wasting crystals on skills you’ll just rebirth later. Silence, Combo, and Onslaught shine as top choices thanks to their balance of cost-effectiveness and long-term potential. Meanwhile, a few others like Wisdom and Hold Fast can be decent choices as well for a shorter period of time.

Everything else is largely optional or too niche to be worth your purple crystals. By keeping your spending smart, you’ll have plenty left to invest in the powerful late-game ToK skills that truly make a difference.
